Hey all...I was wondering how many of you out there use your trucks as daily drivers??? Just a little curious as to how many people only pull them out when the weather is nice. I couldn't imagine not driving mine. Let me know please.

Sunshine cruiser only. The salt in the winter and acid rain the rest of the year would wreak havoc on the sheet metal. Also, it takes a lot of elbow grease to detail a chassis and driveline, but only one short drive in the rain to ruin it. I would drive it more often, but for the climate.
My is on call 24 7, but then again its all i got so... not to much more i can't afford to buy something that actually gets good gas mileage,(18 year old budget) so i just put everything into my truck.
When I bought my truck I intended to only drive it in the summer and drive may chevy beater the rest of the time but now that I have all the bugs out I like driving it too much. Haven't even started the chev in about a month. I know it will wear out and rust away faster this way but what the hell its what Henry built it for, right?
These trucks aren't rare collector vehicles or anything so I figure take care of it and enjoy it while it lasts.
Mine's a daily driver, and unfortunately my only way to escape being homebound when it snows. I spray the undercarriage off a lot in the winter, and when summer time is here, I pull the bed off to clean the rails real good. . Lot of extra work, but I'm like Sedric- I enjoy driving it too much to leave it parked for too long. (79 F-150 4x4 stepside) I'd drive it even more if it weren't for the 351M gas hoggin motor!
I use my 77 f-150 400m almost every day. But then again it is the only car/truck that I own. I drive it every where i go unless it isn't running which is usually only whe i am working to make it better. Then i use my parents car. It's a great tuck.

Mine is a daily driver as well. It's not really a gas hog (F100 2wd, 302 V8) and I like the truck over cars. I don't use it a lot. I only use 10 miles daily, sometimes more whenever a truck is needed.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Jan-02 AT 04:56 PM (EST)]Every day, to work and into town to pick up my daughter from daycare. Hauls tree limbs, dirt, tows trailers, you name it. Its the only thing I've driven other than the wife's Explorer or Expedition. It's been 4 years since I restored it. Its due for a little freshining up though. Hard to find time to spend in the shop with an 11 month old.
I usually park my '70 when the snow flies. The salt they put on the roads to melt the ice really tears my truck apart. My '78 is a year round driver. It gets around better than the '70.
My '68 F250 Camper Special is the daily driver now that the old 5.0L is gone. The 390 sucks the gas but with two tanks and cheap petrol (for now) it's not too bad. Weather is not an issue down here in So.Cal, it's the traffic but the commanding view from the cab really helps out.
Somebody open the windows and doors, Thom has carbon monoxide gas. :-)
Ken I drive my truck to where ever I want to go. I drove it from NC to upstate NY to visit Thom aka stockman this summer.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
