I'm replacing my factory 6 disk cd player in my 06 f250 with a Pioneer AVIC-D2. I've seen alot of posts on the D-1, but not the D-2. My local shop will install it for @ $1300 and add another $350 for Sirrus/I-pod/steering wheel controls. Anyone out there with a D-2? I'll also sell the factory radio at a good price. Thanks.
I have a AVIC-D1 sitting on my office floor waiting to get installed in my Excursion.
Now I see the AVIC-Z1 and I want that instead. That thing is unbelievable.
welcome both of you to FTE, please take a moment to read the forum rules and please dont hesitate to private message me with any questions / comments. enjoy your stay!!
p.s. i have no idea on ur question, i dont have the moola for one of those units :P
Thanks for replying. The z-1 looks awesome but the price looks horrible! The same shop quoted me @ $2400 for install for the z-1 alone, almost the same price for 1 pioneer avic d-2 h.u with i-pod,sirrus and steering wheel controls, 2 widescreen lcd 7" monitors in headrests with wireless headphones, 1 seperate dvd source under front seat for rear monitors and a basic remote security system (all for @ $2600 installed). It seems like more bang for the buck with the avic-d2 (a 2006 model). Thats the way I'm going.
I just recieved my truck back and WOW,WOW,WOW!!! What a system. I drove home with the nav. unit going, my ipod playing in the background and the rear seat 7" screens all playing at the same time while still using my steering wheel controls. You cant even see the ipod and it charges at the same time. Everything looks factory and my kids love the wireless headphones. Defin. worth the $2800 price tag. Next: speakers, subs and amps, intake, exaust, chip, lift kit and tires, and my Lo Pro tonneau from A.R.E. coming next week. Sweeeet!
What I find funny is are all of my buddies including myself that have had Nav systems for a few months that don't use them anymore. They are great for business applications or for people that do a lot of travel, but they lose their appeal after a month or so.

I have found the same to be true with most customers I sell an indash nav unit to. More of a status thing with alot of customers. I however use my D1 all the time. With my business I come to you. I install on-site so all I do is ask a customer for thier address and say "see ya in a bit"
I love my D2 and will use it traveling all the time. Most people who do it for a status symbol have cars worth as much as they are and work at McDonalds but try to portray themselves as being "players". I still dont understand the mindset. I got my system because the nav. feature was an added bonus and now I have nav., sirrus, ipod, cd. and rear seat entertainment for the family and myself. Buy the D2, it rocks!!!!
Guys, there is a guy on the forum that sells the Z2 and other Pioneer stuff. Does anyone know who he is? I've talked to him before but can't find the thread or his info.
