can you start a new section under ranger just for performance questions. That way, those that need help, or have questions can get help without an argument starting? To many times, people never get thier questions answered, because we start fighting amongst ourselves. That way those that are opposed to engine mods, or high performance, won't have to get involved in that section. People can truely get the help they need. Thanks: Wendell
Thanks guy! This is the best site I belong to, and I think this would make it better, it would help those who need it, or want it, and should cut down on the arguing. The new section on ranger performance could be your legacey, YOU'LD BE THE MAN!!!!!!!!
i might place it in the tech folder. but i need deff proof that there is something to put in their. i myself am not a fan of a k and n intake (DONT START AN ARGUMENT HERE) and or slap in mods
IF YOUR A FAN OR NOT, DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT ON THE AMOUNT OF PERFORMANCE QUESTIONS THAT COME THROUGH HERE WEEKLY. PEOPLE COME TO USE FOR ANSWERS, AND ALL WE GIVE THEM IS ARGUMENTS, IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD ON US AS A SITE. PERFORMANCE IS AS OLD AS THE AUTOMOBLE IT'S SELF, AND IT'S NOT GOING AWAY. AS LONG AS THERE'S A MOTOR, SOMEONE WILL WANT IT FASTER, OR MORE POWERFUL, IT'S A FACT OF LIFE. i'VE SPENT OVER 1,800.00$ TO GET MY RANGER WHERE IT IS TODAY, AND I AM SATISFIED FOR NOW. I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR WHAT I'VE DONE, AND WHAT HAS WORKED FOR ME, OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCE IN DIFFERENT AREAS AS WELL, LIKE THE OLD 4.0, 3.0, AND THE 4 CYLINDER. MODDING A MODERN ENGINE ISN'T FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, HP COST MONEY, ALLWYS HAS, AND ALLWAYS WILL. THE COUNTRY IS FULL OF PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING IT AS THIER HOBBY, AND THEY DESERVE THE BEST THAT WE CAN GIVE THEM AS A SITE, AND WERE NOT DOING THAT, ALL WE'VE BEEN GIVING THEM IS GRIEVE, WE NEED TO BE BETTER THAN THAT. THIS ARGUING ISN'T GOING TO STOP SOMEBODY FROM MODDING, IT'S IN THE BLOOD, THEY'LL JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I WISH K&N, AND OTHER MANUFACTURES WOULD MONTER THIS FORUM, LIKE THEY DO THE FOCUS FORUMS, TO HELP OUT IN THE DEBATES, WITH DATA, AND SUCH, FOR THE GOOD, OR BAD, LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY. I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR WHAT I USE, OR HAVE USED, AND IT'S NOT ALL BEEN GOOD, SOME HAS. THANKS FOR LISTENING!
I wasn't aware that there was a problem, either real or perceived, between those people who appear to me "opposed" to modifications to their Ranger, and those who are "in favor" of said mods. IMO, I don't think you can even draw a line like that, since there are so many people who fall in between, depending on the product.
On the other hand, I am aware of the recent thread wherein there was a fairly heated - but nonetheless civil - debate on the issue of upper intakes and performance mods in general. This is the kind of thread that comes up every so often in almost every forum and then goes away. It's almost like those "synthetic verses dino" oil debates - everyone has an opinion, but nobody ever seems to "win" the argument. That's because there are no winners in that kind of debate. To each his own.
I think it's also relevant that FTE is chock full of forums that cover performance mods and related subjects, to name a few:
- Computer Chips and Tuners
- Performance and General Engine Building
- Supercharger / Turbocharger / Nitrous Oxide
- Aftermarket Products
- Appearance & Dress-Up
I don't think the Ranger Forum needs any new sections or subsections or anything like that.

Joe, I'm in total agreement with you! There are already enough forums addressing "MODS" on FTE!!!

Not to start an arument AGAIN BOB, but they don't go to the other places, they come here, what would be a wrong with having a ranger specific performance area? If you don't like it, you wouldn't have to post on it, "point". It should be no skin off your back if we had it. The arguments seem to start over every aspect of mods, and it's getting old, and nobody gets there questions answered because of constant arguing. those that are not interested in mods, stay away, it's that simple. It shouldn't bother the non modders, you have the rest of the forum after all. We can't even agree on this, and it shouldn't effect you what soever. I just want some peace, and if you can't stand the thuoght of a ranger performance sections, just shows you love to argue, well, I'm tired of it, and this is one solutions, one thats much needed.

What you are suggesting Wendell is better suited for RPS, not FTE!!!!
There are a lot more children, and immature adults on RPS, that get thrills out of burning up their tires, racing, and generally running the **** out
of their vehicles.
You can even discuss it here if you want - however I don't think there is a need for a special thread (like a sticky) for such discussion in this forum - given the LARGE differences between all the engines that have been fitted to Rangers, the specific engine forum would be best to field such questions.
