Well...ok I've come to somewhat of a conclusion.

I'm considering the possibility I know who it is. A guy who is one of my friends, not real close but we associate. It never occurred to me before, but after my first aftermarket radio got stolen (cheapie little one) he wound up with the same one.

Now I'm thinking, I know this guy, he knows my truck, knows where I live, knows I was alarmless, etc. Tommorow one of my other friends (who owns a quiet little Sebring convertible, much quieter than my Flowmaster lol) is gonna take me over there and I'm going to flashlight his car and see if the radio is in there. This is late at night mind you lol. If the radio is the one that just dissappeared from my truck, I'm going to let the cops know I guess...I dunno what they can do about it. I got a whole 'nother post in General Automotive Discussion if you guys wanna see it.

Anyways, advice on that?

Actually the friend with the Sebring suggested we steal it and leave it on his hood. But I'd rather just drag the cops into it and get my money back.

Man that sucks. Sorry to hear that. Sometimes bad things happen to good people!

Around here, I leave the keys in both my trucks at all times. No one has EVER messed with my vehicles at home. Anyone who knows me knows I am HEAVILY armed. And don't think I wont shoot at things I think I see in the dark, because I've done it before!
Even at school I leave the keys in it. I've got a nice Pioneer stereo and a whole bunch of CD's. Also have 3 knives on the dash and a .22 Beretta under the seat!

Sometimes it's good to let people know you mean business!

you leave the knives and berretta in the truck at school? At our school they would fry you to a crisp if they even hear a rumor like that. Lol

That happened to my brother. My Mom's house is out in the country. My brother's car was broken into in the driveway. No randomness there. Took the radio, rear speakers, and a pair of skates worth about $500.(1988 dollars) I ran into this douche out cruising a little while after the incident. I looked in his truck and noticed the stolen Aiwa. We called the cops later, and when they looked he switched it out for another. What we should have did was waite until he went home that night and jacked it back. The radio was pretty rare and it wasn't a coincidence... Oh well, I guess better we didn't. I had another friend who had his stereo jacked from his driveway 2 weeks after he bought it. It turns out someone working at the shop he bought it from was tipping off his friends as to the adress' and vehicle descriptions of people buying high end units. Nice!

Yeah I've heard of shops doing that.

They'd fry you hear for rumors like that as well. Until last year there was a guy who had a gun rack, but after he graduated they got really tight about it. I leave two hunting knives in my truck, just in case.

Trust me, they would at my school too. They check parking passes daily and they have to look in the truck to see it. So chances are, the 3 knives haven't missed their view. The Beretta is under the seat, so no worries there.

Well whatever works I guess. They check our parking passes...well they finally did like two weeks ago for the first time this year, and towed like 50 something cars. Sucks they check yours so often. We can get around it though. Just park behind our stadium, it's all public parking over there lol.

Man...not a good week for us truck owners.

Anyways, the guy didn't have it (well it wasn't in his car or truck and I didn't see it anywhere in the seats or anything), so I'm back at square one. Waiting to hear from the detective on running the prints through the driver's license database (here they record your prints when you get your license).

I would seriously be so pissed. I hope they find out who did it. Best of luck to you.

Rangerpilot- I've had the same parking pass since I started driving to school lol. I should have a senior parking pass since I park in the Senior lot, but I dont. The office knows me and probably would rather not mess with me. lol.

They just want to rip us for 35 bucks to park there. Next year it'll be 50. No surprise there. Stupid we have to pay to not use their buses.

Still waiting on more news from the prints (they got sent to Dallas). Dunno when it'll all be done.
