RVPuller, that's where my truck was purchased, but it was brought into state by another dealer. Crater Lake doesn't carry many V10 CC SB trucks (or didn't when I was looking). Several of the people I work with have Ford SDs, and mine is the only short bed. I like it though, I can park between them and hide.
Ace when I was there all they had was one diesel and all the rest where V10, but no DRW. Mine came from Grants Pass. The way I understood them both dealerships are owned buy the same people. I will be back in Medford area in September (Central Point) and then on to Bookings for the winter.
I drive my short bed truck around town when the weather is bad. It fits in most parking spots but usually will not fit in parking garages. It does a great job towing my 28' tag car trailer.
I'll probably buy a long bed when the new SD's are released and get a 5th wheel trailer.

I do the same with my '97 F-150. I still drive it to work, or if I have to go somewhere with a parking garage or where I would have to parallel park. I don't even want to think about parallel parking a 22' super duty!
I have a lb and see more sb than anything. The automotive companies base those projections on an average of the configurations in previous years and availablity of options.
Crew Cab was a must have...but to answer your ???
Two reasons, 1. I wasn't going to the dark side for an 8' bed ina half ton 2. In 2001 the F150 SC only came with that teeny little 5'5" bed. I think it sitll does.
looking back I like the F250 better. I'll never overload a 3/4 ton. Plus, other people are more curteous on the road when you have a heavy hauler.
I went on a 300 mile trip this past weekend and loved every mile of it. Since the SD is not my daily drive I now find excuses to go to the store after getting home just so I can get my fix of driving it.

Ha! I know the feeling! Seems I'm running to the hardware store twice as much now! Love driving it!
Around here in my neck of the woods, crewcab shortbeds ans supercab longbeds are pretty much the only style of SD you see. I prefer the crewcab longbed because it looks evenly proportioned(supercab shortbed looks that way, too)IMO. When I bought my last SD('01 F350 crewcab longbed SRW) I had to order it because of the body configuration I wanted, and I wanted the floorshift transfercase and trailer tow mirrors.
