I just installed a custom tune from MotorHaven via an SCT Xcal 2. This is on a 4.6l Expy XLT and it's a very noticable improvement over stock. I'm sure on a 5.4l it'll be that much better. Unfortunately for 03 your only options are the SCT or Superchips offerings.
Both are basically the same with the major differences being the Superchips is a standard "off-the-shelf" tune while the SCT can be custom tuned to your specific vehicle and needs. Both offer end-user adjustments such as wheel size, gearing, trans shift points, shift pressure and spark timing.
I would highly recommend giving Motorhaven a call and discussing with them what you are wanting out of your truck and they will hook you up.
