I guess it depends on the size of the tree.

We got trees here in Northen Ca. and also in Oregon and Washington that even a big rigg could not move.

Dynamite, baby; lots of it. And some beer.

Beemer Nut knows what I'm talking about.

Up to 1988 I "had" a property in Pacific Grove Calif. 5/8 acre 3 blocks from the ocean, 'ex got it. It was in the heavy wooded area full of big pine trees but there was one odd tree, a 25" diameter by app 85" tall telephone pole type Eucalyptus not the wide branch out type. I went thru 4 tree removal companies, every one refused to touch it because of the high density of pines and damage it could cause if fell as PG is a tree friendly city. With between $1,800 and $2,300 if they wanted the job I took it on myself. After 5 weeks PG gave me a cut permit for that one tree with stipulations, "no other trees can be damaged". Me being a pissed hot head got out the pole (they weren't tree) climbers, safety belt and chain saw cut that puppy down in 5' sections. Between chain saw start up and police at the property was less that 2 minutes as everyones a tree hugger in PG. Flashed him the permit and cut away. Would I do it again, hell no as I was tossed out of a 80' JLG, left hanging by the safety belt back in 94, now have a fear of heights I can't get over, wimp who knows? With the problems of blasting materials my company stopped and sold off their supply, seems I was given a few sticks, let the fun begin, loud thumping cars should need only one stick to cure their radio problems don't ya think, oops thinking out loud again.

94_turbo, I removed 5 liquid amber trees app 13" to 16" diameter on the property near the root lifting sidewalk. With the crossbow shot a line up high, pulled a rope thru, tied to the F250 then pulled them away from the power lines. Dropped all 5 within 20 minutes, limbed and hired a chipper. Neighbors already think i'm nuts I don't disappoint.
