You probably see our decking at Home Depot if you look for the tag. I love the job, but am beginning to hate the management. Our benefits has been gutted in the past three years and I for one have had enough. Time to look elsewhere after 27 years...
I work on the highway department for a local municipality. We do all the road work, and signage. Also we do the snow plowing and leaf pickup, that is the real reason we are employed, the snow and leaves. its a good job, low stress, and the pay is good. The befits and pension is what keeps me there, I will be able to retire at 55. Not too bad
I worked for the USPS for over thirty years, retired, and then went back to work full-time for the County as Director of Transportation. My department runs the paratransit buses for Seniors, the medical transportation programs, and general transportation. Every day is different, the job is both interesting and rewarding, and I am a " people person " who enjoys working with others.
Facilities Maintenance at a customer service contact center (call center) - it's a 1-man department and, technically, I'm a Manager, but I'm just the maintenance man lol... I oversee the security and cleaning teams; monitor and maintain the access badge system and security camera system; some minor plumbing, electrical, etc.; help out the IT Desktop engineer when needed; routine maintenance such as painting and whatnot; generate and file various reports. I spend much of my time running around and catering to everyone else's needs and wants lol... It has its moments and I've had worse jobs so, I can't complain too much...
I make "cores" for casted mining equipment. I came from doing supply for a hospital kitchen and I love where I'm at 200% more. Not just making double either, haha. It is a very hands on and physically demanding job that fits me well.
I'm a welder, but for right now I'm stuck doing mechanical assembly building automated welding equipment. All these windmills being built, I build the machines that weld the pieces together for the towers. I just finished up a welding lathe that puts the threaded ends on oil drilling pipes as well.
I also am a mechanical tinkerer. I do engine swaps, motorcycle builds, snowmobiles, lawn equipment, etc. I restored a Ford LGT120 last summer, and adapted a 48" snowblower onto a Sears SS/18 tractor.
I quit new home building after 30 years of sub-contraction interior trim. I now work as a maintenance man at a state park. I work at Lake Bistineau state park. I like my job. I don't go through a town to go to work. All country roads & my job is a 850 acre wooded park. I lived in a city too long. I'm back where I belong.
I haven't been around a lot lately - so much going on I have very little spare time now. I am a field electronics technician for Comet Signals & Communications - Comet is a contractor for Kansas City Southern Raillines. I'm on call 24/7 and can end up just about anywhere in Mississippi - my primary territory stretches from Clinton to Pelahatchie and down to Gulfport so I am not home as much as I used to be in my old job. The cool part is my company truck is a 2007 F150 XL with the Triton V-8!
I am Truck and Trailer mech at GE TIP Trailer Rental/Services in Denmark (TIP Trailer services Nordic)
In the past i've worked as Truck driver, driving instructor, blacksmith and was also in the german army for 12 years.
I come around many places in Europe and it was pretty exiting, so i was employed in Germany, Luxembourg and now in Denmark. Not a draggy life so far
Entered the Navy and retired from the Coast Guard after a total of 24 years served. Now I've been a letter carrier for the USPS for 6 years. I love the job and my customers but I hate the government BS.
