Most of the transport reefer units are around 45hp, from what I remember in school.
Try either a small Perkins deisel or a Kubota diesel. You can find the Kubotas in bobcat equipment. Or, if you want to ditch the cooling system, try a Deutz three cylinder or four cylinder. The three cylinders start at about 25hp, and the fours run up to around 70 with a turbo. Just make sure to put a good air filtration system on whatever you get, use either a dustcap stack or a filter housing with a dust trap in it.
