Oh, I HATE to do this...
There are a number of reasons behind this, but the main ones are:
1) Ford Employee Pricing, and
2) the proverbial "offer I couldn't say no to."
Frankly, my income fell through the floor, thanks to Ford's (and GM's and Dodge's) employee pricing last summer. Hey, why should you travel all the way to Rochester, NY, when you can buy the same truck for the exact same price from the dealer down the street? I'm a nice guy, but I'm not THAT nice a guy!
It wouldn't make any sense for most people to do that, at least from the "almighty dollar" standpoint. And I want to make this crystal-clear: I don't blame anyone here for not "going the extra mile" to buy from me. I have no control over the market, or whatever kind of incentive Ford decides to offer the public. As it turns out, Employee Pricing for the public was a real disaster, in more ways than one. But that story is for another time...Several months ago, a local dealer contacted me about a sales position. I was flattered, I thanked them, but said "no thank you" at the time. Well, their offer got better, my Ford sales continued to decline, and before I knew it...I was in a position where I just couldn't say "no." So, believe it or not, I'm still in Rochester, but I'm selling BMWs and Land Rovers. Yeah, that's a heck of a change, but everyone I know insists I should be good at it. I appreciate that vote of confidence, anyways.
Although I'm no longer selling Fords, that doesn't mean I'm leaving FTE. I may not be able to spend as much time here as I have in the past, but I'd still like to offer help and advice. I don't think that part of me will ever change, and FTE is too much a part of my life to just say goodbye to it. "Addictive" is a word we here quite often from the newbies. Besides, between the 2 Town Cars and the F-150, I'm as much a "true-Blue Ford" guy as the rest of you!
Damn..... It feels like we lost a pillar of the FTE community. I want to thank you for all of the advice you've given. and I know you'll continue to give advice, but I doubt you'll be able to price new trucks like ya used to.
That being said, What's my price on a new convertable?
nah, I dont want one, Driving around my pops' 745i when he is out of town is eenough BMW for me. And if the BMW customers are anything like the ones I see when I take my dads car in for service.....LOOK OUT
Good Luck Jeff

Wow, just wow! The first thing that came to mind was the date. Nope! It's not anywhere close to April. I guess it's no prank. I joined this site long before I ordered my truck from Jeff, but a quick look back would show I was not really a member of the "community." A question here, a reply there. Maybe check the site out a few times a year, but that was 'bout it. I stumbled in here one night searching for info on pricing. I was not even really sure I was ready to order. I had put it off for four years, so it wasn't like I was in a rush. But I found "F22" that night and this really cool dude named Jeff. I hopped off the fence after years and ordered a truck within a couple of days.
After that I became a regular around here, and think I found a home at FTE. Mainly because of Jeff. I was driving a new Ford truck by July. Mainly because of Jeff. Ford sold one more new vehicle. Mainly because of Jeff. It's going to be strange logging into F22 (that's what I call the New Ford/L/M Buyer Forum) and not seeing 1956MarkII with the little green "online now" dot lit.
Jeff, good luck to you buddy. I know you gotta do what you gotta do. Don't run off from FTE never to be seen again. If I am ever up that way again, well, I'm not going to buy a BMW or a Land Rover...but we can damn well go get some Barbecue

As I said Good Luck, and I hope you find the Beemer and Land Rover business more to your liking . I personally think you will miss us Ford FTE guys, and will be back visiting with us often! You've made some friends in here for sure.
Thanks again for all your help!
Thanks for the best car buying experience I've ever had. If I can talk my wife into a BMW X-5, I will give you a call! Best wishes.
p.s. feel free to PM or email me with your new work email address. Seriously, if I am ever in the market for a BMW, I WILL contact you.

I'm surprised that you lasted this long at one dealership...speaks volumes to both you and your former dealership's outstanding character...
Jeff, best regards to a successful "new" start within a different market segment...
And hey folks, if I'm not mistaken, Range Rover is a subsidiary of FoMoCo, and those who have x-plan, maybe Jeff can still be our answer... oh Jefffff....
