I have a '66 F100 with a 352 V8 and am considering swapping engines between this truck and a '68 with a 360 V8. Both have a 3 spd manual. Does anyone know if there are any obstacles in swapping these engines between these two trucks? Is the engine mounting the same? I think these are a different block design and don't know how things will line up.
Scme, you can do it. The 352 and the 360 are both FE series engines. Which means they'll have the same mounts aadn patterns. There are some earlier FEs, like before 64 IIRC that had a differant engine mount, but you should have no trouble. Welcome to FTE. DF

We are happy to have you! There is a ton of great info on this site. But, before you go snooping around there are a few things you need to do first.
1) Want to meet or talk to other members in your area? There are Provincial, State and International Chapters located near the bottom of the main forum page.
2) Before you post a thread asking a question be especially aware of where (what forum) to place it in. FTE is HUGE! Make sure you read the Read First: at the top of the forum before you go posting.
Thread moved to Engine Swaps forum.
3) And finally you should review the Guidelines. They will kind of give you an idea of what is and isn't allowed on this site ("The Rules").
And that is it. I hope you enjoy the FTE "Experience"! This is a great place and we have lots of fun while exchanging valuable info. If you have any questions or problems do NOT hesitate to contact me. Just click my username then send me an email.
Secondly, they are both FE engines so it's a direct swap... Actually, the 360 just uses a bore of 4.05 as opposed to the 352's 4.00. Now if you want to, you can find a 390 crank and rods and dump them into the 360 block, instant HP gain
Thanks for the info. It is quite helpful. I have a fresh 352 out of my rusty '66 and am looking for a solid mid sixties F100 to put it in. I am looking at a '68 stepside- but if you know of anyone with somethng like this for sale, I would be interested in hearing about it.
I have another question regarding an engine swap. How easy would it be to put my 352 into another truck I have my eye on...it is a '65 F100 that is currently equipped with what I assume is an original 6cyl. engine?
