Be very careful on installing the Gold alarm remote start. This is a serious install and has the potential to screw with factory computers if not done correctly.
Sorry guys I know I am a stick in the mud a lot but the warranty being voided is a expensive screw up.
I am not a fan of undocumented excess stock or other "Fire sale" items off E-bay.... saving $200hundred dollars and voiding a warranty on a $40K+ truck should be thought about very long. I assure you that the seller of the $100 buck Gold alarm will not stand behind the product....ever! (BTDT) Been There, Done That
It's factory new Ford OEM equipement. This won't void the warranty... just take it to the Stealership to get it installed.
reading through the instructions the kit IS complete... I took the kit to the stealership just to ask. "I bought this stuff on-line... Are these "real", original Ford parts?" He typed in serial numbers and part numbers off the box's, even ran the bar code. Said. "Everything checks out. You've got the complete kit here." He asked if I was looking to have them install it. But said. "As long as you use only the parts that are in the kit, and the kit is properly installed, you CAN do it yourself and not void anything with the warranty at all."
I'm waiting till its A LOT better than the current -2 degresse outside, but I'm pretty confident its not going to be all THAT bad. And if I do it myself I KNOW all the wires are properly connected with solder and shrink wrap. Nothing left to chance.
Pretty interesting stuff I'm reading about the superchargers and everything. But, MAN! You guys dont think the V10 has enough grunt from the factory?!!? Its got more grunt than any truck I've ever ridden in!
Saw my Dodge Cummins sitting on the used lot all polished up and shiney today... Good riddins!!!
