bf250--now dont get so nervous--as some otheres have stated on this board--by their comments--there are NO harasssing cops--preppypro--i like it--suere wish could have sitnessed it--have a cop in this town would do the same to-if wouldnt be in jail for it--a real jackass--but not if you have money ---or are the mayor--he speeds regularly--
94. Not that I understand your point as there are several words that don't make any sense.
Of course there are azzhat cops - just as there are more then plenty azzhat people who are not cops. What do you think? That cops are a separate and totally removed cross section of society?? How many azzhat construction guys, dentists, store clerks, (name the occupation) have you ever had a run in with?
Jeez! Get real people!!! I've been stopped before - just like many of you. Even though I'm an LEO, I don't like it either. So what is the point of all these threads.
Oh! I get it - quityoursniveling and get on with life!
It was a gas station? I should have read more carefully. Holy cow, now that is suspicious, never heard of such a thing, they were definitely out to get you. Especially if they were creeping by. I've only heard os such things on Art Bell's Coast-to-Coast. Lol.
"Don't be so smug buddy..." that's precious coming from a guy that calls me "son".
"Real life examples"....just so you know, a house can't be robbed. Burglarized, yes, robbed, no.
The drinking and driving...you don't have to justify your actions to me. Relax, I didn't say you were drunk driving.
The one thing I'm most curious about...how did the cop trick you into not having your insurance document in the truck?
And since your so keen on paying attention...it's S-H-E-P-H-E-R-D just like at the top of this post.
You need to dial it back a notch, my friend. Stop getting in people's faces and you'll get more respect.

Of course no one likes getting pulled over. If we did, there wouldn't be any threads about it.
I think the point of these threads is that some people feel they are being unfairly targeted by police. A lot of states use temp tags - the OP clearly stated he had temp tags on the truck. I don't know WHY people keep saying, "You didn't have any license plates and that's why you got pulled over."
And WHY do people get upset when someone complains that they got pulled over for doing 45 in a 40? It's asinine. NO ONE should get pulled over for speeding less than 5mph. In almost every state, you can't even get a ticket for going that much over.
If you can't give someone a ticket for the infraction you're pulling them over for, then don't pull them over. Same thing with the 'obscured tags' post from yesterday.
whats the purpose of my post? i just had something on my mind i needed to get out. alot of people here vent, useless, meaningless posts. whether what we vent about is right or wrong, its just something we do as humans when we have no one around to whine to.
does it seem like ALOT of posts about police lately? even Geraldo ( i cant stand the guy ) had a show on last night about police shootings. seems we are in the blame the police trend again, since there isnt much else in the news.
so, about my rant, sorry. its winter, im stuck indoors more than i like to be, etc etc and i just typed to get some weight off my shoulders.
It's all good, we all do it. We're a community and we *should* be supporting each other. At least, that's how I see it. I think most folks here would agree.
if a cop asks you how fast you where going that usually means he/she doesnt know how fast you where going and is trying to get you to admit you where speeding
Cops have radar so they know fast you were going. But if they can get you to admit it, that makes thier job a whole lot easier.

...I'd sure like to see that in writing. As far as I've ever heard, you CAN get a ticket for exceeding the posted speed limit, no matter how little (yes, even 1 mph over).
You can probably get a ticket for picking your nose in public. But what judge in their right mind is going to find you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of going one mph over the speed limit?

Perhaps Kalifornia is different, but Oregon only requires a preponderance of evidence. One mile over would be difficult to prove even at that standard, but five would not.
Yea. After we bought our van. Not 10 miles fromt he dealership. We get pulled over and ticketed for no vehicle registration> it got thrown out when we went to court about it.
Everybody ive ever know. A few of them cops. They always say. go with the flow. If theres a couple of cars around you going 5mph over. Do it. Otherwise it would slow the flow of traffic. Now if theres a couple of people doing 5mph over and 2 going 10 over. Slow back to 5mph over and let them pikc off the speeders.
And generally on highway driving. Even if your speediing. Theyll let you go aslong as you arnt driving like a maniac. That is not true however if your going through hulbert, Oklahoma. If you fart na dit makes the car go 0.00000000001 mph over the speedlimit. Thats a 120.00 fine.
