Got me a "funny" ticket
Well, i smashed the gas and took off pretty fast and was unlucky enough to hit some ice or something and the tire spun a little (the tires dont usually spin on this car for whatever reason, it's full of power i think it has traction control or something)
Needless to say i got pulled over by an unfriendly cop who gave me this big runaround when i said i didn't know he was pulling me over. Asking me if i had a medical problem and couldn't press the gas properly and needed my license seized, then asked me why i wasn't buckled and i said cus i'm not moving, i took it off when u stopped me, then tried to tell me the tint on my moms car wasn't stock and wasn't sure if it was legal (i know good and well it is stock cus it's not even that dark, especially in the front).
He walks to his car, another cop pulls up, they musta been chatting or something. He walks back to my car an eternity (25 minutes) later and hands me a ticket for "unusual noise"........no very descriptive to say the least.
Does anyone find this a little fishy? I know i shouldn't have been screwin around, but i was in a parking lot, no one was around and all that happened was the tires chirped. I would understand maybe if i got a ticket for wreckless driving or something of that sort but "unusual noise" is that even illegal? I'll give ya unusual noise "quack, quack" lol.........I'm probably the only one that will get that joke.......cus i'm so corny lol
"Canopy mechanism makes unfamiliar noise"
The maintenance people opened and closed the canopy for several hours, and then signed it off since it seemed to work properly regardless.
When they signed it off, in the "Corrective action" block, someone wrote:
"Actuated canopy for 3.5 hours. NOISE NOW FAMILIAR"
Gimmee a break, they pulled you off for one thing, changed it to something else, and then wrote you for something completely different?
Go to court on it, man.
The judge (if he has any sense of humour) will likely say "Dismissed!", bang his gavel, and then say "And now for something COMPLETELY different..."

Actually I got the joke,
I think you hoped, you could " Duck out " of getting the ticket!
*grin*
It could have been a "Stunting" ticket around here.

Here is my "funny ticket" story (actually, I have 2). My family and I were returning from a weekend of camping. We were driving along, minding our business. In the distance, I see a state patrol car pull over to the side of the road, he was coming towards me on a straight stretch of road. I didn't think anything of, all 3 of us in the cab of the truck were waring seatbelts, I was going the posted speedlimit, and all of the trailer lights were operational (I had checked them not 20 minutes earlier). I go passed the trooper, wave and smile, and keep going. Next thing I know, he is behind me with his lights on. I pull over, trying to think of why he is stopping me. He walks up to the truck and asks if I know why he is stopping me. I felt like telling him "You mean you don't know, either?", but I held my tounge and just said, "No, officer, I do not know why you pulled me over." That's when he proceeds to tell me that the window tint on my truck was too dark. Let me ask you this, how did he see my window tint, on my side windows, from 1/2 mile away and facing me head-on? You know what the kicker is? He wrote me a ticket for $50, and a fix-it ticket. Which means, after I pay my fine, I have to have the tint removed from my truck windows, then I have to have an officer inspect it and sign the fix-it ticket. Man, my wife and I were mad. I paid my fine, removed my tint, but I still want to know why that trooper pulled me over.
Sorry for all the rambling. I'll tell the second story some other time. (Guess what? it deals with window tint, also.)

Actually, they don't need a reason to pull you over. Just by having a drivers license, they have the right to stop you to check and see if you have it.
Just like the helmet laws here in Texas. Everyone is required to wear a helmet unless you are exempt. By exempt, it means you have to have personal insurance provided by your employer in the amount of $100,000 that will cover you in case of a motorcyle accident. Not just any accident. But you must also have a small sticker from the DPS/DMV that says you have provided proof of this insurance. Having this $25 sticker does not mean you won't be pulled over, wearing a helment is the the only way they won't stop you. Our city has stopped pulling bikers over since they aren't getting any money.

In Iowa, they need a reason to pull you over. Hence the seatbelt and window tint laws.
All I was saying is, that State Trooper was going to pull me over, no matter what. I don't know why he decided to pull me over, he just did. I mean, by the time he walked up to the truck, I had my license, registration (truck and camper), and insurance papers (truck and camper) ready for him. I did not know why he pulled me over, but from the time he saw me, he decided to do it.
I was very calm and curtious. I learned a long time ago, there are only 2 things you say to a cop, "Yes, sir" and "no, sir". Being curtious and respectful has gotten me out of more tickets then going to court and fighting them.
I don't want to sound like I'm ragging on anyone, I just wanted to know why this Trooper singled me out.

That day my son and I were heading into the meeting hall. My town is a notorious speed trap and we were in a 25 so I was going 25. We were about half way there when the local PD cruiser passsed us going in the opposite direction. He did a quick U turn and got behind us. I assumed he was chasing after the guy infront of us, but he wasn't doing anything bad that I could tell. My son who was quitely sitting next to me suddenly got up out of his seat and turned around to look at the cruiser, duh???!!! He did not have his belt on. I immediately told him to sit down and put his belt on, it's the law around here.
Now, I almost always tell my kids to buckle up before we get out of the drive way and 99.99% sure I will have told them before we get to the freeway 2 miles down the road. Well today was my day, I forgot to tell him to put them on and so the cruiser put on his lights. and pulled us over in front of the meeting hall.
So there I am in my scount uniform with my kid also in uniform with lights flashing and two officers doing the routine. I kind of felt like a nun caught going to a dirty movie or something. jeez. Well one officer was the mini **** type we see every once in awhile and gave me a bit of a bad time. The other officer was professional and was very nice and offered to have the PD come by to the cubscouts and give a presentation.
Anyway, the nice officer talked to my son, who I always wears his belt once I yell at him. the officer said, " Son do you wear your seatbelts?" My son said "Never sir". DOH, Doh, Double DOH. I had to explain to the officer that we really do wear our belts all the time and that my son was rattled and gave the wrong answer. The nice one was understanding and didn't give me grief, but we still got a ticket.
Well we got our ticket, eeets a beeeg one in Oregon. I felt kind of grateful when the judge dropped the fine to $150. Now my sons know that the next ticket comes out of their hide and they are much better at putting the belts on before I remind them.
