Get used to it. When I originally bought my 3/4 ton Dodge diesel I was stopped typically twice a month. The first thing out of the revenue collectors mouth was always "is this really your truck?" I never did build up enough nerve to ask them if there was some law stating that a younger people aren't allowed to drive anything better than a rustbucket.

Wasn't intending that as a flame (I must be in some wierd mood today, this is twice on FTE TODAY!!!!) but hey.

I wish no seatbelt tickets around here were that much, when I first started driving I got stopped for illeagle lights and didn't have a SB on, it was a whopping $5.

No plates at all, not even a paper plate on the window? No doubt you'll get pulled over, even if you're the mayor. I've gotten a ticket for having my FRONT plate on the dash, lucky ya just got a warning...

If your truck were stolen tonight and a cop pulled the driver (thief) over because there were no plates on it you'd feel much differently. I've been pulled over with temp/paper tags in my back window before, it doesn't make upset me in the least. Just a minor inconvenience is all.

Like it or not, statistically, younger people are more likely to be doing something "wrong" than middle age/older people are. Cops aren't stupid, they know this well. This is not to infer that you (nor anyone else reading this) were causing trouble so don't take it like that. The reality is that a 20YO is more likely to have some issues that the cop would like to *address*, such as no valid drivers license (suspended), no insurance, stolen vehicle, stolen property in the vehicle, high on drugs, been drinking, in posession of illegal drugs and warrant(s) to name a few.

Suppose for a moment that you are cop and you are following two vehicles, both going 45 in a 35. It's daylight and you can see the drivers and both vehicles are in decent condition (ie, no beaters). One is a Caddy Eldorado with a single 60 something year old guy driving and the other is a late model pickup (any brand will do) with three guys in their teens in it. Who would you choose to pull over, knowing perfectly well what statistics show? This one is easy.

I never did build up enough nerve to ask them if there was some law stating that a younger people aren't allowed to drive anything better than a rustbucket.
Back when I was younger and a passenger in a freinds car, we'd always get pulled over, The cop would always ask me for ID (never carried a wallet). I'd say I don't have any , then the cop would gharrass me. Finally I got fed up and one time I asked the cop to tell me the Law that states I need to carry ID on me in public.

Cardboard? Wow, your state and mine splurges
Nah, They get it back in the 200 dollar transfer fee

Why did you think it was "interesting"? Never seen a cop drive through a bar parking lot before?

What exactly is the point you're trying to make by emphasizing this - "When you entered the 35 zone"

So, cops should ignore speeders and equipment violations? Or only when it's you?

Delusions of persecution. How funny. Cops are always either "targeting" you unfairly, or ignoring you when you're needing them. And what you call an excuse is legally called Probable Cause.

Hooray for drinking and driving!

you just reposted all the small errors people already previously posted and i already replied to. congratulations son.

-if youd pay a little more attention, i was in the GAS STATION parking lot when the cop slowly creeped past me.

-what was i emphasizing about the "when you entered the 35MPH zone?" simple the fact that she flipped on the lights and started pulling me over before i even reached the 35 zone, she wanted to try to get me to admit i was doing 50 in a 35, WHICH I WASNT. i was doing 50 in a 45. still paying attention??

-"so police should ignore speeders, or only when its you?"
dont be so smug buddy. as i already mentioned numerous times, i WAS DOING 5 MILES AN HOUR OVER THE SPEED LIMIT. not exactly a grand felony here buddy. id she wrote me a ticket for 50MPH in a 45MPH zone, id complain about it, and send in the payment. but, as i already mentioned many times, and i will mention AGAIN... she was trying to write me up for 50 in a 35 even though i hadnt reached the 35 zone yet. ARE YOU CATCHING MY DRIFT HERE ???

-Delusions of persecution. How funny. Cops are always either "targeting" you unfairly, or ignoring you when you're needing them. And what you call an excuse is legally called Probable Cause.
YOU WANT REAL LIFE EXAMPLES? like the time the police wouldnt even write a report, after the neighboor punks robbed my house? seems like a good case of "ignoring you when you need them" to me. but thats a totally different subject.

-Hooray for drinking and driving![/QUOTE]-
now this is the comment that REALLY sets me off here. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL! here it goes again! i had 2 beers - thats TWO beers.- that would be ONE beer + ONE beer. once again, thats TWO bottles of budlight. im 6'1" 203 pounds. if you think having 32 ounces of light beer, stretched out over 5 hours, then driving home is such a bad crime..... well i guess im a terrible person.

any more questions Shepard???

It was a gas station? I should have read more carefully. Holy cow, now that is suspicious, never heard of such a thing, they were definitely out to get you. Especially if they were creeping by. I've only heard os such things on Art Bell's Coast-to-Coast. Lol.

"Don't be so smug buddy..." that's precious coming from a guy that calls me "son".

"Real life examples"....just so you know, a house can't be robbed. Burglarized, yes, robbed, no.

The drinking and driving...you don't have to justify your actions to me. Relax, I didn't say you were drunk driving.

The one thing I'm most curious about...how did the cop trick you into not having your insurance document in the truck?

And since your so keen on paying attention...it's S-H-E-P-H-E-R-D just like at the top of this post.

Easy, guys.
I, for one, can't see what all the fuss is about. He got pulled over (which is what cops do...), he wasn't ticketed because he wasn't, in the eyes of the law, doing anything worth ticketing for. End of story.

In South Carolina the law targets vehicles with no tags.
When you buy a car you go buy a temporary tag or regester the vehicle before you drive it.
You are fined for not having proof of insurance in the vehicle while operating it.
They will check with the dmv to see if you have current insurance, if not then your car is towed.
They can and do stop you for not wearing a seatbelt and fine you if you arent.

So you were breaking at least three laws at the time the officer first saw you, and your temporary tag was hidden behind tinted windows at night. Instead of graciously thanking the officer for giving you a break, you cry about having been stopped. Unbelievable.

in washington i used to get pulled over for my tires (35") on my 95 f-350 2 inch lift, they said i was suppose to have mud flaps(even when it was stock) my truck had florida tags on it and i told them it meets florida requirments and i don't have to stop in every state i drive and change my truck around, one time i even told them to write me a ticket got so tired of it, but not one single time did anyone write me a ticket and they always pulled me over at nite and this went on for 5 years!! clearly they were checking to see if i was drunk or something else, i have alot of respect for police and i know there job is demanding, but sometimes it crosses the line a little to the harrassment side, if no one is doing wrong, then no one is doing wrong!!!! but i will take a little harrassment, as long as its uniform and its for the right intention of getting bad people off the road, i have no fear of "1984" world ever coming, police are people to!!!
