Question about cab clearance lights.

I have looked far and wide for one of these "master templates", at the Ford dealers, and on and on.........What I did was I found a truck similar to mine with cab lights (1996 F-350) and asked the owner if he would mind if I took the meaurements off of his truck, yes I know, it is a very awkward question to ask someone, but it worked.

I just finished installing the clearance lights myself on my 2005 F250 , I ordered the lights and harness from Ford, took measurements off a new truck, made my own template, used some info from this site, and got a huge bunch off nerve to drill holes into perfectly good sheet metal, (thats the hardest part!!), took me about 2 hours !!

Yes, Ford did replace all of the cab lights. I told them that I almost didn't pass state inspection because of it.
They did it with no questions asked. Now I have nice amber cab lights, not almost clear ones.
