just a fyi i installed my own clearence lights too and i found a much better way of doing it then measuring everything and all that bs. i took my friends super duty that already had the clearence lights on it and took the truck apart, made a templet on where to drill the holes. put their truck back together put the templet on my truck bing bang boom done. no need for "fudge" room all my holes were drilled in the spots they should be in and of the correct size.
Hey BigRyanKP do you still have that template? I would be interrested in it, even pay you for your trouble so that I can use it for mine. I do not have any friends locally with the cab lights on their Super Duty to be able to measure it by nor do I think that the dealer would let me do the same. Thanks!
I like the look of the lites also. I have been wanting to install them but was unsure about drilling holes in my truck. When it was all said a done, the big ? How change from the wallet??????????
BigRyanKP thanks for the offer. I expect in most parts of the country it is cold. I do not return from Afghanistan until next month so it would be then or April that I would install the lights. If you would be willing to do it when it gets warmer I bet many would appreciate it. Heck I will even send you a ballcap from Afghanistan.
BigRyanKP, you might just have a little business going here.. I'd gladly give some money for a template. It's way cold up here (Alaska), but I plan on installing a roof top cb antenna and would like to kill two birds with one stone. When you make the template, let me know how much it. Thanks, Chris
What ever you do, don't go cheap (like JC Whitney), I did, and after only 6 months they have faded to almost clear. Its cool I guess, if I liked clear lights, but I don't, cause Im old school.
Also make sure that the screws that come in your kit are STAINLESS because the standard ones will start some nasty rust no matter how careful you are or what prep work you do!

I've learned the hard way.
I had cab lights installed at the dealership where I bought it, they are almost clear now after just short of 3 years. Honestly, they looked pale when I got the truck.
I am going in to have the trans looked at and have added the replacement of those lenses to the list of warranty repairs...
