It's hard to believe that such a simple fix cured the wife's excursion power door locks ,but it's true. I followed the steps in the thread .!st one took about an hour just because I was being overly careful I guess. Fixed the other 3 doors in about 30 minutes time each. I read that some folks used machine screws to put their actuator back together. I drilled all the way through and used wire ties on all 4 doors. GREAT THREAD!!!!!!
neither doors work, but suspect it's the drivers side....I have to wait about 10seconds before the doors unlock using my remote. the alarm goes off every time..
Is there a way to isolate which actuator is faulty. I would hate to take apart the passenger side when it's the other
As jade said most likely both are bad. If you are unsure of that start on the drivers side. I think you will find that after you do the repair the drivers side will work and the passenger side will not. If so then just do the same on the passenger side.
I thought as much , thanks for the tip. I'm going to try it and I'll let u know how it goes. If it's not the problem then at least I 've fix something before it breaks. I'm hoping it's not the alarm system. I think it's tied into it somehow.
i follwed the instructions in detail, and removed the assy. as stated, but the motor tabs are fully engaged into the openings they are bent over into. How in the heck did anyone get them pryed up? What kind of tool did you use.. I tried everything to get behind then and bend them up, but finally gave upp and put it all back together. Any advice would be most appreciated as im so close but yet so far if i can not get these dam tabs to bend up. I even tried looking up the numbers on the the web to just buy some new motors, but still no luck.. HELP Please!!
I hear you on that. It was a bear to get mine back also and as a matter of fact they got trashed while doing it. I used sharp tip awl. A really little screwdriver would work too. It was tough putting them back. I figured if I couldn't get them to push back enough to hold it closed then I would super glue the damn thing together...... Good luck.
I too used a small screwdriver and a sharp awl, just have to be patient not to break off tabs. It helped to use reading glasses to see the microscopic tabs. Good Luck.

Since you own reading glasses I am guessing you are really old, like over 40.....lol
