1) cut a piece of copper the same size (won't tell where to find it but it will cost you $.01 for it.
2) Solder a 18 gauge copper wire around the end of the resistor.
All of these methods will work. If you do an ohm check on the resistor (little silver square thingy) you will probably find 3 or more ohms. Too much for this circuit. Jim
What amazes me is that this mechanism is $#it...
seeing all the people that say that they had to do it to 3-4 doors at a time makes me question... how reliable is this truck????

I have to admit, I've bought MORE electrical parts for my PSD than any other vehicle I've ever owned.
CPS
Turn signal switch
window switch
door locks
new gas pedal with integrated sensor (WTF is wrong with a throttle cable? -- THey're only $30 or $40 or so-- This thing was $250 or so if I remember right
radio
(and that's what I can remember off the top of my head)
I've also had a rear spring totally fall apart (apparently common according my spring guy).
I've only owned my truck for about 18 months, but I know who owned it before. He used it, but didn't beat the hell out of it. It's a good tool if I've got a trailer on, but I'm kinda getting tired of replacing electrical widgets.
I've not had issue with the tranny or PowerJoke yet.
I fixed the ones on my excursion about 6 months ago.The foil fix just quit working on the drivers door so I copied someones else's ''fix''. I did the 1 cent solid copper repair and it's working like a champ again. Just cut your copper piece the exact same size as the foil wrapped piece ,ditch the old piece and your good to go.

I came up with the $.01 fix because I was afraid of the aluminum deterioration with vibrations over time. I also started putting dielectric lube on the copper to prevent oxidation. This is what lead me to soldering the 18Gauge copper wire around the ends. But the copper alone will work. I still have 1 working that way. Jim

Come on guys, it's a FORD
In Finland we had a phrase " every car, when it turns old, becames a Ford"
Anyway, I got a hobby that i like
Electrical stuff, I have fixed: Powerlocks, Computer console, Tow hitch cabling(obviously some dealer did that, so I had to fix it).
