i know that this is way off of the subject, but it has a good reason, i need helpo with my 89grand prix, it has a 2.8L, one day i was driving it and it died like it ran out of gas, we replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, and the fuel pressure regulator, and it still does it, do you have any ideas of what i could be, i would like to get it fixed, and soon, because if so i can get a 78 f-150 with that money
Usually when a timing belt or chain breaks the vehicle will not restart. It sounds like once your engine stops, you are able to restart it again but it quits on you again. Is that correct? If you want to check for a broken timing belt or chain, look at the distributor rotor and see if it turns when you crank the engine. If it does not turn then you probably have a broken belt. My 78 F-150 would quit on me sometimes and when I stopped at 7-11 or something it would not start until it sat for awhile. Finally it quit altogether and I had it towed to Ford. They replaced a pickup module in the distributor that was breaking the circuit when it got hot. Good luck !

I must be getting soft.... I usually have a canary ( ) on stuff like this because as a whole off-topic posts like this one are not in keeping with the charter for this site. If we have any more of this there will have to be a public flogging ( ) in town square. o.k. maybe just a dunce cap on a first offense. ( ) [/FONT][br]

That was it Stockman! It must have been a moment of weakness and confusion when I replied to a plea for help from Ford-Racer 02. I figure anyone who posts questions about a GM CAR on this Ford site must have a central intelligence disorder, so I felt sorry for them. Hey, they probably realize the supreme intelligence and wisdom of Ford truck owners anyway. Maybe this poor misguided individual will take the ear ring out of his navel and become a Ford Truck Enthusiest.

I find ownership of brand x vehicles to be very enlightening. It sure does give you an appreciation for our Fords. There is certainly hope for Ford Racer. I hope he gets that pos started so he won't have to dirty his hands pushing it off his property.

Ford,
Do you have a Service Engine Light On? It happens, I've got extensive experience with that drivetrain. Your describing a Mass Air Flow or Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor failure. This would set a light. Get back to me ASAP before you get cut off at the knees.
By the way, did you here that GM was putting the HI/LO beam switch back on the floorboard. It turns out it's owners are getting there feet caught up in the steering wheel!
Good Luck, Have Fun,
