I have an 85 f250 4x4 460 4barrel carb with alot of emission stuff on it. MY question is could it have come out with a electric fuel pump from the factory. It has electric fuel pump now I am having trouble with it not getting enough fuel at a load. It dont have a manual fuel pump now.
It has a dill that looks like a metal fuel filter with 2 lines coming off it one goes to the carb and one runs back under the truck. Is that a fuel filter.
Any help will be appreciated.

 

The 460 had what they called something like a "Hot fuel handling" system. It kept the fuel moving to prevent it from vapor locking.

 

Yep, electric pumps in the fuel tanks are a original system on most 460 equipped trucks. That thing at the carb is a orifice device that lets some of the fuel return to the tank.
