Try the one under the Tech Articles it is pretty good.

alt.autos.ford is one.
If you're only doing ONE vehicle ,some people there have subscriptions for doing TITLE searches.

Whoops, I misunderstood the question, my wife says I do that alot Have you tried doing a title search at the vehicle registry? Some places , I have heard anyway never done it myself, you can get the previous owners and vehicle info by paying a fee.
