i know i posted on here a few weeks ago about a distributor that i bought off of ebay .
it arrived today and is in very good shape. the ebay seller posted that the distributor was from an FE equiped truck and listed several FE engines that it would work with , i'm stumped , and thas why i'm posting here again
the #s on the distributor are C4TF 12102 C
H 544
FoMoCo distributor
it has a tach drive , vacuum advance , and what looks like an oil line fitting
has anyone got any info for this unit for me
i hate to move backwards with my parts , so i'm hoping that someone may have a line on where i may get more info on fords castings and users guide

sorry, no luck. Try ffr428, he's da man for fining out that crap. If not, I think you are going to have to find out the hard way. As mentioned before the FE and FT use different size shafts, so I would find out what fits and go from there.
i keep hearing that dizzy will not work with my 352 , what i need is someone who can tell me the break down of the numbers , as this was bought off of EBAY , i would like to tell the seller that he made a mistake in his discription of the dizzy and ask he be a little more careful on how he sells stuff.
not to give any negative feedback on EBAY , but just to make him more aware what he discribed was wrong
anyone with a proper use guide or older ford workshop manual that can help , that would be great
to add to my post now that i am still in the market would anyone who is rebuilding a FT powered truck like to swap a FE dizzy for my FT tach drive dizzy????
Well I don't have a whole lot of truck part numbers but it does belong to a 64-78 361 or 391 which does use the larger dia base dizzy. If you give me the date code I can tell you the year. I can do the basic part number breakdown also
C=1960's
4= 1964
T= Truck application
F= engine accessories/service replacement
12102= base number. pretty much tells you it's a distributor
C = 3rd revision.
The date code will be a number followed by 2 letters. You mentioned a 544 number. Is it possibly the 44 is a AA? If so that would be a 65/Jan/1st week dizzy part number. The first number is the year. The next letter the month A-M Jan-Dec skipping I. The last letter A-E is the week of the month part was made ex: A= 1st, B 2nd and so on. That's about all I know on this one sorry.
thanks FFR428 for help with the numbers on the distributor , looks as if i have a conversation piece for the garage now , i did hope there was something i could do to make it work with my 352 , it would have been a real cool piece to see in the fairlane.
Well glad to help but sorry to hear it's not the right part for your Flane. There is a good chance the seller did not know the difference either. Most guys figure it's a FE part and they all interchange. I sold off a bunch of my old parts or I would have had one for you. You can try the classifeds at www.fordfe.com place an ad and I'm sure you'll get what you need.
well all may not be lost , this time when i go to ebay for another distributor , i'll ask all the right questions befor i bid , the last item went almost the full 7 day's befor i bid , and then someone else bid $1.50 more than me ??? strange how that works
i did see a few other distributors on ebay , just thought this would be retro cool
one other question without sounding hhmmm ... silly , whats the deal with a dual point distributor , there are a few of those on ebay
