I just bought my wife a 2002 Mountaineer and as expected the dealer did not have the entry code for the keypad. Luckly the owners manual was with it. Short of spending $75 to have a dealer retrieve this code does anybody know where this code might be located. I looked around the computer however I did not pull it, I just pulled the side panel to reveal the computer. Thanks for any help!!
Pulled the door panel and followed the wiring from where it came in all the way to he key pad and did not find anything not even a door module that bolted to the door. The wiring came in and went to the mirror control, memory seat buttons, windows and locks controls, to the window motor and then to the drivers door lock solenoid and key pad. My Owners Manual said the code should be taped to the computer but I pulled the computer and found nothing. Any other ideas?
Dont have a wiring diagram for an 02, but on a 97 the key pad is wired to the "remote anti-theft personality module." If this is the "computer" that your OM mentions, it's -on a 97 anyway-mounted just below the drivers side rear window.
