Auto UNLOCK on S-Crew doors....
Hello All,
Great website and super forum with lots of info. My question???
I have 2 '01 F150 screws, one is 2x4 the other 4x4. Same engine, tranny, trim, everything. However, the 2x4 electric door locks automatically OPEN all 4 doors when I open the driver door. Very handy.
The 4x4 does not do this, it only opens the driver door. I would like to have all 4 doors open on the 4x4 when I open the driver door. No info in the manual for this issue.
Any ideas or solutions????
Thanks,

What happens is that when I open the drivers side door using the door handle on the 4x4, only the driver door automatically unlocks. On the 4x2, ALL 4 DOORS automatically unlock. That is what I want to happen on the 4x4.
I do not have the external keypad. Both trucks are XLTs, identical in almost every way, except for the 4WD and this door opening thing.
Any ideas.....
Thanks,

I wonder if some of the child safety features are causing your problem. Here's a couple of things to check.
1. Each door should have a switch that prevents the door from being opened from the inside. Usually it's somewhere on the door jamb.
2. Does the power window/lock master switch on the driver's door have a master switch that prevents the passengers from using the power windows. Check the setting, maybe it effects the door opening as well.

dirtydog43 hit the jackpot!
It is a function of the factory car alarm that was installed in the 4x2. I was asking around at other dealers in town and one of them had it figured out. I had totally forgotten about the alarm in the 4x2.
Thanks to all who reponded. I will try some ways of connecting all 4 door locks and if I get it, I'll post the solution.
