I was driving down a grid road hauling a load of 16 wood pallets on a utility trailer.I hit a hole in the road and right away I hear a continious thump thump.I unload the trailer and start to drive home which is about 15 miles. The thump thump slowly disappears.I get back in the city and can only slightly hear the noise when I turn right.Could I have nocked my drive shaft out of balance. The universal joints have less than 5000 kms on them. But they were purchased from part source.
Not that big of a hole. But the noise started right after I hit the hole.Pretty loud inside the cab.Doesn't seem to have any vibration though. When I drove the truck back into the city(15 miles)the noise started to disappear.I drove it around to see if I could still hear it.It only showed up faintly When I was turniing corners.Must have something to do with the speed. The tires are Goodyear workhorses. Two years old.The noise is forsure coming from the rear drivers side.Same side that I hit the hole.I was going about 80km an hour. Not that fast.
I'm starting to think it's the rear driver side tire.Took the truck for a ride to night and only heard the noise a couple of times.Real faint, really had to listen for it.When I hit the hole in the road it was thumping really loud inside the cab.Tonight I had the window rolled down and only heard it faintly a couple of times.Have to take it in and start with having that tire balanced

Is it a countinous/timed thump or is it eratic? Exp. Timed: Thump...Thump...Thump Eratic: Thump.Thump...thump..thump......thump? Is there anything loose in the bed? Is see theres a tool box in your pictures, might have knocked that loose. Jack the truck up on the side and try to shack the tire where the sound is coming from.
It's always been a continiuos thump thump. But know I can barely hear it.I only hear it when I'm going real slow once in a while. Some people think it's the tire out of balance.Any thoughts on that?
