idle issue

When i start my 92 Explorer cold the the idle goes up to 1200 rpms then drops down to 800 rpms. Once it is warm it idles steady at 1600 rpm only in park and neutral. When it is in gear it idles at 800 rpm and does not jump around. I have a Newer IAC and tried cleaning the MAF.

You could have a vacuum leak somewhere, allowing some extra air in. Check all vacuum lines and connections, maybe even re-torque the upper intake bolts, look over the PCV system, etc.

All the hoses that go into the vacuum tree look ok. Does it have any other lines that I'am not aware of? I will check the pcv and intake. Thanks for the reply.

I notice when I rev it a little the idle will jump but it goes down very slowly back to 1600 rpm. This is only when its warm and in park or neutral.
