I think the vt-365 has less problems.

Interesting that there are four variations of available power levels...

same engine platform, just tuned differently. it would be nice if ford detuned the 6.0 to 230hp and 620 lbft, and stop worrying about the power wars between the big three. it will show by less shop time. HP isnt what pushes you back in the seat. its torque.

Yep, I'd take 230hp and 620 lbft, but they have their problems too.

I've read many posts by IH tech about stuck turbo vanes and dirty EGR valves. While Ford will replace a turbo under warranty, IH actually has directions for cleaning the turbo and reurning it to service.

Horsepower is a function of torque.

I like these facts at the bottom.

>>Preventative Maintenance Intervals

Change Engine Oil, Replace Oil Filter 10,000 mi (16,093 km)/350 hrs fuel/ 1,500 gallons of fuel

Replace Fuel Filter 20,000 mi (32,187 km)

Replace Coolant 300,000 mi (482,803 km)* / 5 yrs/ 12,000 hrs

Valve Lash Adjustment Not Required

I agree with ya there!!!! I would like to see how that programing would do in these pickups of ours.

I am a little confused by the governed rpm limit on the engine. It states 2800 rpm. This is much lower than the limits it shifts at when WOT with the 6.0 in the Ford application.

So I guess what I am asking is ..............FORD just installed a programmer to run their tuning program. Does that mean that FORD also vioded the IH warranty on the motors ?

no. my guess is that they got a special agreement with IH to push the 6.0 to the "limits" (even though at stock ford trim, it is supposedly at 60% of the engine's capability), to compete with dodge and chevy in the power wars. that is why it revs so high. because the fact that the high-horsepower tune requires lots of revs. lots of torque doesnt. like the VT365 shows.
