The easiest way is to buy a petronix points replacement modual. It will cost about $60, Takes about 30 min to install. I used one for years on a 1969 300 six. I installed it and never touched it again. And you can keep a set of points in the glove box, just in case it ever goes out on you.
I have a 72 F250 With a 360 and converted over
from points to Electronic ignition using a
Crane Cams Fireball XR700 points conversion ignition It uses a infrared optical trigger
and comes with a bunch of diffrent shutters
for all types of engine's 4cyl/8 It was very
easy to change. it cost about $140.00$ but
i saw it in jcwitney for $100. It will work
perfect in your 302 and give a little more hp
and easier cold/hot start's and maybe little
better gas millage works alot like pertonix's
(I think?) but with a fancy external box.
I've had no problems with it and would recomend
it here's a link <a href="http://www.cranecams.com/ignition1/7003000.htm">http://www.cranecams.com/ignition1/7003000.htm</a>
Good luck!!
All you need is a Duraspark IV Ford module, matching distributor, and the harness (for the connectors); than it is just a wire in. Put the system on a 351 that I dropped in a 64 Galaxie - works great.
