"777", you are entirely correct in your revised question about my post.
I'm making a Point.
It may be semantics to some, but using the incorrect word while attempting to communicate their P.o.V is irksome.
Spelling errors happen, but proper word useage is a must or would you rather read about an indiviuals Opinion (emotions) or their P.o.V. (facts) on a specific subject.
Though most will still deliberately confuse the 2 & use P.o.V. when they're actually basing they're statements solely on an Oppinion.

RHW, I like the 351w just fine; I know the 351c is the 351 of choice, but there are tons of w parts available too. Plus, I'm just after a reliable daily driver.
No I don't. At the risk of offending some, the 351/400M is not generally considered a motor that can be tweaked to put out gobs of power. I don't remember why though. There are a few articles on the net about building up the M motor, but unless you have one already or are getting one for free, the consensus is go W or C. There seems to be very little in the way of aftermarket goodies for the M as well.
(I'm no expert on these motors. I just do a LOT of research on anything before I make my choices...That and the fact that I love research.)
I understand.. I have a 352M400 in a 77 LTD2 wagon and its a pullin monster.. works great.. Im planning on tranplating it in my 60 .. so I end up with the 351M400 and a C6 tranny. and Im also going to yank the center form the 9in rearend thats in it also.. So all the gears match.. the wagon evens runs the P series thats a match for my tires on the truck.. so I should be able to get the speedo to work right

Not sure what your deffinition of "gobs" would be though, but...make a trip to the 335 series forum, lots of good build recipes over there, very good results. There is an aftermarket, just not huge like the 302's and 351W. Want to see some good numbers on torque and horsepower? Visit Tmeyers website, an FTE sponsor. 350+ hp and around 430+ ftlb of torque...One can easily turn a 351m into a 400 as well. Lots of good build secrets for the 400 dinosaur.
Speedometer matching is much easier than it used to be since the same basic trannys are being used on so many different vehicles. Speedometer shops have a wealth of speedo gear ratios to choose from for cable driven speedos plus there are external gear ratio converters if your application falls outside the range available. Then there are electronic speedos that do without the cable entirely. The Dolphin speedo I have uses an electronic signal generator in the tranny. To calibrate it you just need a measured section of highway. at the start of the measured mile you punch the calibration button, drive at any speed to the end of the section, stop and push the button again. It accurately calibrates the speedometer, odometer and trip miles indicator. It can be recalibrated at any time.
Ferguson777 - Thanks for the input! I will try to email you to give you my email- I would appreciate seeing which year of windsor to go with. No drag racing here ...I like my license!
Easy now, EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinions as well as the right to build their truck the way they see fit without being criticized by anyone who does not share their exact vision. That's the whole root of customizing and hot rodding! There is plenty of room for all of us on here and we can all learn something from each other. If it looks like a duck, it is a duck no matter what kind of feed it's powered by.
I like what AX said, the only thin I can add is "My truck is not in your garage" So if you don't like, Thats o.k. but at least we are all doing something we love and that is the tread that holds us together.
I had a T-Bird SC back in '89 (seems like a LONG time ago) and that was an awesome combo with a 5 speed trans. Would chirp the tires in all 5 gears. Still my favorite ''new'' car of all time. What a great choice for an effie
I used to have a `91 Super Coupe and Yes it was an awsome car. I think the a that the drive train chassis up would make for a bitchen truck! Has this been done yet? Would it be hard to adapt a Effie to this chassis?
