Just saw the latest ratings on the f-150 vs. Nissan Titan vs. Toyota Tundra.
Ford Got best brakes, Best interior, Quietest cab, slowest down hill crawl for off-road use.
But it got number two behind new Nissan because the New Titan has a 5-speed auto which makes it more powerful, and a small rear end which gives it more ground clearance.
"I'd rather have the monster rear end for heavy towing and monster tires w/ a big lift.
Ford uses a 9.75" rear and an 8.8" front, Toyota uses an 8" rear and a 8" front and Nissan uses an 8.5" Dana 44 front and rear, Chev, uses an 8.5" Front and rear and last I heard dodge used an 8.875" rear and unsure about the front.
These are some of the reasons that the Ford is a better choice for severe service. Ford is bigger and stronger which means that it should also last longer.
I truly hope Ford will develop a 5spd auto, this would be ideal with the 3 valve 4.6..People are misunderstanding my origanal post..I love the look and ride of the new 150's it's when I floored the gas at 30-40mph the response was sluggish...I like to feel those 300 ponies
Back about 3 weeks ago, I was at a trade show in Kentucky, and I talked to a Ford engineer and I asked when a 3v 4.6L V8 and a 3v 6.8L V10. But I guess since the '04's are all new and they aren't available with the V-10, they did the 5.4 first to keep up with the competition. The 4.6 needs to be beefed up next so it won't be ragged on anymore by them GM folks. The V-10 can hold its own for right now, in my opinion.
in all honesty, ive driven many trucks (for companies that had fleets) and toyotas ARE better. I have bought one (tacoma) and I was happy with it. I also had a company f250 and now a ranger. I'll never buy a gm, and doubt i'll buy an import truck again.
the bottom line, sales volume reflects where people are willing to put their money, and I prefer Ford trucks, even if Ford was in last place with sales. Look at the F250, new F150, Ranger...what I see are nice looking trucks, whose older generations were good to me. I dont like the looks of GM and they've not been so good to me in the past. Other people love them...gues what, i dont care.
and someone mentioned teh new Titan...
I'm sorry, but thats going to be the biggest flop of the year. I think they're ugly, and they have no competitive edge. The Tundra was basically a F150 clone built by Toyota, which was what made them sell like they did...what does the Titan have? Who will go for it? I don't know...those Honda box looking cars seem to be selling fine, so what do i know.
ohh come on guy's foreign truck's what the hell is that crap, were americans, yeah they sell a lot but thats cuz theres to meny stupid people in this country that bye stuff just cuz it's cheaper, not cuz it's the best. that makes me mad cuz it screws up the sales numbers. ford has the best selling truck cuz there cheaper. now dont get me rong ford has a great product but still. chevy and gmc do have just about the same truck, exept for styal and the gmc has more luxury, and chevy is a little more bult to handle the offroad stuff, and they have to split buyers, if it was only chevy im pretty sure chevy would be selling the same or better. plus, sombody was talkin about ford and there comerchal trucks, well chevy was just voted the best comechal vehical, and it has the bigst engin

Let's see some actual facts to support this ridiculous claim. Please, price them out...
little more bult to handle the offroad stuff,
In your imagination??? Built better, as in frame only 6 inches off the ground, weak GM IFS, and crappy tires?
voted the best comechal vehical
Voted eh? Proof???
You know Chevman, I've come across like 4 or 5 threads now that you have decided to resurrect. Each time you make crazy and completely bias claims that don't make any sense. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely bias, but when I make claims, I (almost all of the time) will back them up with facts.
Nick , your spelling is sure a lot better as well. I think your posts have a lot more education behind them.
Is it possible that " comechal " is US slang for junk. That would make sense.
Surely he wasn't trying to spell commercial ..........nah, nobody spells that bad.
Thanks for the compliment Wrench.
As for his spelling... ...I wasn't going to say anything, but when you pointed that out, I almost lost my shorts, I hadn't realized how funny 'comechal' was until you said it like that

im sorry but how do i show you proof, if you show me somthang that can prove me rong then pleez do so, dont get me rong im not being mean or enythang, but there not bias claims there true iv read them in all kinds of car n driver, and motertrend mag's, gmc isnt as offroedy ans chevy and ford's cost less you can see that proof just by going to a ford and chevy dealer and comparing the prices. and could you pleez tell me were it says the date of the post, so i dont bring back old threads, or someone could just delete the old ones.
I think we all did.
Ok Chevguy, first off, countering my question of your facts with another question will not fly. Answer what I asked of you, and I will shut up. I'm not sure I totally understand what you were saying about GMC being not as "offroedy" as Chevy. They are the EXACT same truck. Period.
As to bringing back older threads...don't go hunting 50 pages back in the forum for a thread that you can stir up again with controversial statements that have no basis, and no actual facts to back them up.
Now that you are a little more knowledgeable, look above your username in the post box, you can't miss the date.
ok, first off they are not the same truck, ya same basic frame and stuff, but the GMC has a little more options as far as interior. GMC temds to spend more of there time and money on making the trucks more sutable for people who only care about the inside, chevy on the other hand has most of the same stuff, but the chassy is set up a little bit difrent and can handel a little more off rodeing, on vehicals such as: chevy tahoe (GMC envoy) chevy suberban (GMC yukon) though i will not argue the trucks are very simelar, but not exactly alikr at all. thanks for telling me were the date is, when i first got into this i was serching under google, coming accross it not knowing that it was so old.
