GM truck sell many parts (because the trucks keep breaking down
Honestly, all 3 make a great truck, dispite all the problems. That is what America's about . . . . competition. Without it . . .Ford would be #1 anyways lol
What is it with you GM and Dodge guys coming on to a Ford site and stirring up trouble?! Don't you have any true hard facts? Don't you have anything better to do?
“Toyota I think is a better truck than domestic trucks. It’s better riding and it’s better longterm,” Clark said. “My cousin had a ’93 Camry wagon and he had it for eight years and he never had any trouble at all.
“I wanted to go with something that has a little more class and something that’s more dependable. The Ford I’ve had had a lot of brake problems,” Clark said.
(Sorry to get off the subject BUT!?.)
Had to enter in on the cross fire.
I used to sell toyota's at Uhlmann Motors in Chehalis, Wa. they are a great ride, but they definately had more that their fair share of problems we had numerous Camry's come in with problem after problem. Many were due in part to interior flaws seats coming unstiched and wearing prematurely. They also had a serious issue with their V6 motors, (mostly late 90's.) They had a big oil consumption problem, in fact there was an ongoing class action lawsuit in Idaho but I beleive that toyota finally took care of it. My aunt was stuck in the middle of it all. After many accusations made against her not doing proper maintenance she got in on the lawsuit, bang they took care of it. It smoked a lot when started cold. Then there are the toyota compact pick-up trucks. They came in every day with head problems 4cyl. and V-6. (All the way through the 1990's) So when I here people say how fantastic all toyota's are I know better been there and seen it first hand.
They have problems just like any other vehicle.

I agree about Toyota building good vehicles. Especially motors, but I don't think the Yodas will haul as much and tow as much. I have to say the 4.7 liter Toyota V8 is indeed an impressive powerhouse. But where does it make it's best power? Up top or down low?
I waited 6 months to buy the new 04 F-150.After the test drive I was very dissapointed, the ride was quiet and smooth,BUT the new 3 valve 5.4 just didn't live up to the hype...On a whim decided to test drive an '03 Silverado with the 5.3 and 373 rear-end,I was amazed at the performance. The Siverado also provided a clean, smooth ride.Top it all off with a 4,750.00 factory rebate and 12% the dealership knocked off I "switched".Every Ford dealer I had visited implied that 'Sticker" was the price...Unless Ford dealers change their attitudes, and Ford tweaks the drivetrain,I'll buy another Chevy in 18 months..
I may not be able to speak for all Fords when I say this but When I bought both of my new Rangers new off the lot they felt kind of lazy until they broke in. Also the 04' trucks sat in storage for quite some time while the final improvements were being made to them. Some people may wonder what does that have to do with a lack of power, I say a lot, When gas gets old and stale in a tank over the course of months it no longer works as well which can make an engine feel mighty weak. Anyone who has ever stored a motorized piece of equiptment and then used it with the old gas knows exactly where I'm coming from when I say this!
Not saying that this is what happened but it is quite possible that this was part of the problem above.
Or it may be a Chevy boy trying to start something.
I was very excited about the new 150's....had someone told me 2 months ago I'd own a chevy would of told them they were full of it.....If Ford will tweak the power train '05 could be my next Truck
Like I said before, these Chevy guys really seem to get amusement from going onto Ford sites and bad mouthing everything else. They don't seem to have anything else better to do do they? You know I always have to laugh when ever I see an ad on TV or in a magazine or newspaper for the Silverado HD pickups. They go on and on about how tough, indestructable, and unstoppable their new 4x4 HD trucks are. I was up 4wheeling with my old 84 Ford F150 4x4 on Silver Lake sand dunes, when I came across one of these HD Chevy trucks buried up to it's frame in the sand. I offered the driver a tug to get him out. He beligerently said "That POS 6 cylinder Ford can't get this truck out!" After hooking up the tow straps and a quick sharp tug, the Chevy was freed, and the owner had a very surprised look on his face. I'll never forget it! Now I realize this fella obviously lacked any kind of driving skills for beach sand, I was running around for most of the day in 2wd. It's just nice to have an opportunity to put one of these hotdog Chebby owners back in place!
Put a load behind it and the picture changes really quick. The Chevy doesn't make nearly as much torque on the low end. Also, try putting a load on them and hitting the brakes hard in an emergency stop. Hope you're wearing a diaper when you try this in a Chevy. Also, don't forget to wear a kidney belt if you take the Chevy off road, it has the most frame flex of Ford, Chevy, Dodge and Toyota.
Chevy is a great truck for fry cooks yelling "that thing got a Hemi?" Ford makes trucks that can work.
