What Plug Wires do you use?

Im in need of some new spark plug wires. The current ones are real old...i dont even remember installing them. I know they were NAPA wires, and they were good.

So, what are some good ones to use? What should I stay away from?

MSD makes the best plug wires around. FMS are also excellent.

I noticed MSD makes the Heli-core and superconductors... is there much of a difference besides the color?

I'm using 8 or 8.5 mm plug wire Motor Craft, in my 89 7.5 L. what are the benefits of using MSD plug wire over OEM?

I've been running the FMS 9mm wires for a while now.

My 93 crewcab has junkyard wires and has for years. It's fun finding three good wires on this car, and two good wires on that car... etc.

And when they die, I have boxes of them!

Motorcraft all the way. Put in there what was designed to go in there.

One thing about cheaper aftermarket wires is there always seems to be a couple way too long and it ends up looking like crap. I've got the blue FMS wires, which look pretty good. They didn't cost much more than a set from the parts store either.

frederic, I like the way you think

Where can I get the FMS wires? Or do I have to order them off the internet? I've seen they're like $40, so thats pretty good.

You can get FMS ones from summit. I got my MSD wires from them as well. The nice thing about the MSD set is that they are custom fit. They provide you with the ends and a crimping tool and you cut them to whatever length you want.

I've had decent luck with Accel 8.8s, bright yellow.

Thanks. I am very into cheap/free type repairs if it makes sense. Having eight good junkyard wires for $5, and another couple of wires in the bedbox is a much cheaper solution than a new set of wires.
