PC question -Scanner-which one???
I had a Mustek flat-bed scanner that was really good, that recently 'went south'.
I am looking to buy another scanner.
Which one is best?
Why?
Thanks in advance.

I'd go with a Hewlett Packert just because their printers are excellent, and I've heard excellent reviews about their scanners.
I don't know which model would be best for you, depending what you are going to use it for.
Hope this helps.

I use a scanner for everything from digitizing personal photographs to scanning photos for use in printed documents/newsletters/brochures, etc.
Basically, I'm looking for the most 'bang' for the buck.
I'm limiting myself to (around) $300.00. It's for use at home (and some business use.)

TRy to find another mustek... I have never seem a better flatbed than my ol mustek 1200cp... The thing had awesome color clarity, and sharpness.

Visioneer and Epson are also good names, but make sure you get a fast scanner. Even if you don't think you need the speed, you will regret not getting it when you use it.
As for $300, you should be able to get one for less then that.
