Ok it is a 79 2wd no air. I get rain water in the cab under the glovebox and drivers side of trans tunnel. Is there a drain I can clean or is this more serious? I did notice it only happens (seems to anyway) when stopped and I cant seem to duplicate it. When the Fan is turned on you can feel the remainder being blown out (very small amount)....any Ideas? All I can figure is it is traveling the ductwork somehow.
I wondering if the water is entering through the rubber gasket on the front windshield. A common place for the water to enter is the upper right and upper left side of the rubber gasket on the windshield, cause by the shrinkage in the rubber.
Or it could also be a bad heater core in the heater core assembly in the cab.
Ill look closer at the windshield when I get it wet. I have ruled out the heater core as the water is cool on the wife's feet (lol) and it is clear. It also only does it at a stop when its raining.
If you look down into the cowl, you may find that it is rusted and in pretty bad shape. I am in the process of restoring my 76 F150 and I have the same problem. I am not an expert, but as it was explained to me, the cowl rusts through because the drains clog with debris and it sits under water after a rain. Once it has rusted through, the water can run down along the firewall into the cab. This may be your problem.
OK, MY 1977 F150 HAS A SIMILAR WET PROBLEM. When I first got it, there was no rug or carpet, so I suspected there was a leak, and the seller didnt mention it...(as-is)...so after a heavy rain, by the cowl,it was wet inside the cab...I checked the windshield, the windows and roof, no leaks...so now I will check the cowl...
my 77 f250 has no rust hardly anywhere, but i was getting wet tunnel also, pulled the dash out and there was a rush hole in the firewall from the cowl being clogged. 1' acoss ad about 1/2" high, i bet that is you problem, i didnt realize it was such a popular rust area....
I dont know about where you guys live, but here the biggest problem with the cowl is pine needles. Both my 76 and 77's sat under a pine tree at one time or another and I had to clean the cowls out.
