New to this form so bear with me as figure out how this works. I am hoping for some advice regarding a problem, water leak, in my 1965 Ford F-100. There is a slow water leak from up under the dashboard, uncertain of exact location, but enough to gradually soak the central portion of the front cab wall padding, enough to trickle down onto the cab floor under heavy rain. When raining, I can see a slow drip from uder the dash but I can't seem to locate a specific source. Is the most likely source a broken windshield seal? Can water get in through the external cowling vent? Other possibilities? Any counsel from the Ford truck sages of the community? Much appreciated. BDMartin

Does your truck have a heater? If so, when the heater core leaks, water drips from the plenum chamber (heater box) located behind the right side of the dash, onto the passenger side floor pan.
When the core leaks and you turn on the heater, moisture forms on the inside of the windshield. If your system has coolant (anti-freeze), when it leaks, you can smell its putrid odor.
Very helpful information, Bill. My truck has the stainless windshield molding. I wouldn't have known the difference so you've saved me some headache. Great information on the heating core as well. It has a heater and there is no foul smell. Heater works okay though it has never put out as much as I'd like. And the drip doesn't seem to have anti-freeze so I'm betting it is the windshield seal. Guess I'll start there. I really appreciate the information. BDMartin
