I originally planed on replacing my 6 disk changer with an aftermarket single disk unit. The tech at Crutchfield recomended that I keep the stock unit, that it was a good unit. Plus I also liked the idea of stock look so the theives would pass on my truck. I ended up using Infinity componets (6800CS) front and rear, Profile 1040 80W/4 channel amp and an Infinity Bass Link T 10" 250W powered sub. The Profile amp comes with the line level adapters so wiring was easy.
On my old 99, I used the stock speakers with 150hz bass blockers installed, JVC cd player head unit, Pioneer tweeters, 8" Solo baric sub. Those stock speakers did just fine under the power from the JVC. The tweeters and sub were driven by amps. The system sounded just fine.
Behind the rear seat. I chose to remove the back panel (the bulge for the power rear slider is in the way) and added carpet to the back wall. The Infinity Sub is so easy to install. Basicly plug and play.
