New 06 V10 Ordered

Well I just put a down payment on a 06 F350 Lariat with a V10. I am trading a 04 F350 6.0 PSD. The time had come with all the problems. I hope I made the right decision. According to this site-I did. I will have to wait for 6-8 weeks.

Welcome to the site!

When it arrives, I hope you are as happy with your V10 as the rest of us. Until then, stick around and see what the latest V10 stories bring.

I hope you don't mind 10-12 mpg city! Other than the gas mileage it's an awesome engine!

I have an F350 CC Lariat with the V10 and 4:30 LS rear (Came in 2 weeks ago). I love it. Just completed 1200 miles. Can't wait to start towing.

No doubt you'll like it. I have an 04 V10 and it has more than enough snot for me.

We just have to get Captchas to stop tormenting us 2V owners with his 3V V10.

Well, you're joining a rare bunch- especially in NJ. Have you had the good fortune to test drive a 3v motor?

Nothing personal, but this kinda burns me whenever someone says this.

For a 415 cube engine, with all the torque the thing puts out, it gets better gas mileage than anything in it's class, according to what I've seen myself, and what I've read on this site.

I really wish people would stop saying "as long as you don't mind the horrible gas mileage, it's a great engine"....

When what should really be said is "For any engine in it's class, it gets the BEST mileage" ...

Well you just ordered the nicest heavy duty truck that is available and you ordered it with the incredible V10 engine. I think you are going to be pretty excited with this 06 Ford and just remember, you get 3500 dollars worth of free fuel and every time you change the oil, you can take your Wife out for a nice meal on the money you saved.
After 8 months , my 05 V10 still is a thrill for me and when people ask me if I miss owning a diesel, I can only say that I miss it the way you miss a headache after it is gone. Good luck with your order and let us know when the beast arrives. Wrench.

Smile V10 motor

I have a 05 250 Super Duty reg cab 4x4 tow comand package and a great set up. I got the 4.30 diff from comments on this forum and it is great for towing I pull tractor and trailer around 9 K put it on cruise on and go. Good motor quiet and lots of power. For the weight of truck and cargo you can move fuel mileage is not bad. I had a 97 250 4x4 with 5.8 and mileage not towing was better but when towing it was good if i got 5 mpg.

My 77 f150 super cab with a 300 got about 2 or 3 miles more a gallon and that had a stick shift and no AC. so if you look at it like that the miilage is not that bad.
