That head unit will "work" but it only has 2 sets of RCA outputs. You'd be much better off finding one that has 3 sets of outputs. If you're looking for a DVD only (no nav) head unit, i'd suggest the Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD. Much nicer in my opinion.
Nope.... I cant find the head unit or any of the other components in my area to listen to.. At this point im just looking at reviews of potential items.. Researching the net on potential buys.. Like I said, not looking for anything incredibly expensive.I may just start with the head unit from pioneer noted above from another reply. Has great reviews. And after thats installed go from there. Any suggestions?
llsecdsm is correct about the ddx 514 only has 2 preouts. one can be set to dedicated sub. so it can be a sub out with separate sub control (I have this unit in my expedition and love it) but you will not have fade control between front and rear speakers. The ddx714 does have 3 dedicated outputs. Reason I did not get the 714 (personal and trivial) was because it did not have a volume ****. I would have rathered the larger screen and built in bluetooth (which I am adding) - but I had to have the **** on the stereo. I have owned Kenwoods before (also alpine, clarion, eclipse for head units)and decided to stick with them. Hope this helps, Mike.
