Bonds-Bonds-Bonds

Oh, and DOHC, before I go.......just thought I'd let you know, there's a dude over in Ford vs Comp right now, spoutin' that his bone-stock 300 inline six is pushin' 900 ponies on pump gas, and will out pull any V10 out there!
Go get'em buddy!

Let me give you some background here Mr. Cy Young.
I am a FF/medic and my knowledge of pharmacology surpasses yours I'm sure.
You have no clue about steroids and their POSITIVE places in medicine. I will concede to you for the 3rd or 4th or 5th time that the ABUSE of 'roids is wrong. It is a health risk.............but did you know that taking too many asprin can throw your PH into an acidic state and that you can DIE WITHIN MINUTES ??? Can't revive 'em....they die right in your rescue with a hospital 5 minutes away.
Where's the congressional hearing on the dangers of asprin?
Get over your bad self........protect your kids from 'roids (rightfully so) but Bonds and Mac and the rest of 'em would have preformed very close to these levels if they'd done the same regiment at the gym with or without 'roids.
Did the supplements allow for a quicker recovery time? YES!! Do they allow for a few more reps blocking the lactic acid??? YES!!! But the 'roids in and by themselves do not turn you into something you're not.
Please also note that I coached baseball for a great while(after playing for a great while).......Any HS kid throwing high 90's would be a phenom known around the country. Considering the highest recorded MLB player throws MAYBE 103ish. (which I THINK was Randy Johnson a few years back....I may be mistaken. But before that it was Nolan Ryan at just over 100MPH)
So your Sharper Image baseball with the little window in it may have read 97 but I raise the BS flag on it being actual.

You sure talk smack since you got the boy with the bionic arm backing 'ya.
I don't like him on a personal level (I'm sure he loses a lot of sleep over it, too), but respect his hitting ability. Pretty uncanny how he can hit anything close like he does. I still say he owns the plate with all that body armor on, though. If anything gives him an unfair advantage, it's that... Shoulder pads should be left on the gridiron. Barry looks like he should be playing Rollerball (for all of you that remember James Caan in that movie, doesn't Bonds body armor look the same???) or something.
Cannot forget the 7 MVP's he has won! That is amazing in itself and he should have 8, if it was not for Terry Pendleton and the mis-guided voters!
I would like to see him come back and play for one more season and at least pass the BABE for most HR's by a lefty. The Giants need all the help they can get right now!!!
He's got guts. When he hogs the plate and gets brushed back, what does he do? Hogs the plate again.
As for speed of pitches, I think Gagne threw him a 101 or 102 MPH pitch and Bonds hit a tape measured foul ball.
Next pitch was, I think 102 or 103.
Splash hit in McCovey's Cove.
I also benched 600 lbs.
That's 100lbs. 6 times.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
That's 100lbs. 6 times.

I don't want Barry to break either Hammerin Hank's or the Babes records. I don't know... I hope he doesn't come back this year. And I still don't think he will- for my reasons posted earlier, but also because he knows he'll be walking into a firestorm of scrutiny...
If he has a somewhat banner year, he'll probably scream past Ruths record.
What does he need? 12 more to pass Ruth and 53 to pass Aaron?
If he doesn't retire or get re-injured, he'll pass Ruth.
Aaron's record may be different story.
Will see what happens.
Unless he gets traded to an A.L. team where he can become a designated hitter and prolong his career.

The thing is that it is not ILLLEGAL for medical purposes..........it is a controlled substance however.
The HBO show had the well known Dr. who administers the stuff. His claim is that after MUCH personal testing and monitering and having specific goals it can be used safely.
No, you can't buy vials of crap of the street and jam it into your thigh....that aint right.
Being on a regiment, as a PROFESSIONAL athlete, I still don't see a problem with it. It's the OD'ing that causes the problems.....Added testestrone don't cause the boys to shrivel up...........too much does.
If your HS kid gets on it.............it's your fault as a parent, same as if the kid was doing crack.
People wanna bash these guys, but.... what if you as an individual was offererd "something" that would inhance your daily performance in the job you were doing. Would help you make more money, be better at your job etc, whether it was selling encyclopedias or fixing cars. "Something that may, years from now have side effects, but for now could help secure more money for your family NOW. "Something" that could prolonge your career, make you more money, more security,...hmmm. How many of us would do the same thing? How many try to enhance there performance w/ caffine, or nicotine. How many pump thier bodies up w/ vitamines and energy drinks?
For the average guy to put him or herself in the shoes of professional athletes with millions of dollars on the line, and say they would or would not do something is pretty ridiculace, because who knows what they would do until they are IN a certain situation, with millions on the table.
I'm not comparing nicotine and caffine to steriods, just trying to make a point. Everyone is looking to enhance thier performance, in everything they do, be it Viagra, or Red Bull. Supplements are a billion dollar industry world wide, so the average person is looking for a edge. What makes ball players any different?
Now, about Barry Bonds... does anyone, here besides me, see any correlation to his knee injuries and his alleged steroid use? McGwire seemed to be suffering some knee problems at the end of his career, too. I've heard it said that steroids effect joints because they don't really give the body time to adjust to the increase in size and strength. Make sense??
Bonds is 40 years old, playing a young man's game.......it could almost be said that strength training, conditioning, supplements added a few years to his career!!
Tooz is a sad story.........no doubt an early death brought on by abuse of steroids, but please don't think for one minute that was the ONLY substance in that crazy man's life.
if i had'nt who knows what. I have been clocked trowing as fast as
97mph in high school not impossible. I do not or have i Ever taken
drugs unless a doctor prescribed it including aspirin. My kids will
learn the same values as I and will work hard to become the future of baseball without the need for drugs. For pro sports of all
kinds its a shame that these players have to resort to drugs for
performance on the field. Most players are awsome but are over
shadowed by the few that take steroids. And the media is to blame also for like vueing these guys as sports heros in a sense
when really there cheeters. Steroids has no place in sports and very limited in the medical field as well. So i will now take a back
seat to the discussion. p.s. DOHC sorry for calling you a moron.
in parts to giving them the coverage.
