About the plumbing the ccv into the exhaust....Could you use a braided steel line for that??? I think the exhaust would get a little hot for that rubber tubing.. The braided steel line would look pretty good too.

EDIT: Hmm, and expensive too. I read about the 1/2 tubing but I really like the flexibility. Alternatives anyone...?

how about a 1' piece of metal tubing welded in on an angle, and then connect that to about 2' of high temp silicone/rubber hose that connects to the regular hose going to the crank case vent nipple?

I used the copper pipe section because it would dissipate the heat a little bit. I actually "borrowed the idea" from SUBMAN on TDS. I did it the exact same way he did and he's been running it a long time, years and tens of thousands of miles if I recall correctly. Last weekend I pulled some nice grades on Hwy88 and I80 pulling a relatively light trailer with a VW Dune Buggy (Mad Max) and got the EGT's up to about 1200 for some short durations. I can happily report that the heater hose has not melted off the copper pipe. Some people will be able to bring their EGT's a little higher. I think the flow of the relatively cooler CCVMMGWIBII (CrankCaseVentMakeMeGagWhenIBreathItIn) gas helps keep it cool as well, but who knows for sure. It just works.

Here's a better pic showing the e-vac bung kit I got from Jegs, the union, and the pipe.

I am thinking of getting an oil catch can from Summit Racing. I think it would look better and no smoke. They cost around $29. Only disadvantage is having to empty it.

ok, dumb question here, but, how does it work... and where do the fumes and the pressure go...?

I got mine going all the way back to the rear bumper. No bad smell. After someone told me at a stoplight, I have an exhaust leak on the rear driver's side, I made a larger diameter plastic extention and spray painted it silver. Then put that silver piece below the driver's side rear bumper so it can be seen, so now it looks like a small exhaust pipe, and not a leak there. If anyone stopped behind me now is not saavy, they may think I have dual exhausts on my diesel!

Hello. look at this one.

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...44529926npnHFd

I used to get alot of looks for mine, so I took it off, it just stops under the fuel tank now, soon to go into the exhaust. but it was a cute lil exhaust pipe for awhile.

Diesel Rod that is cute! If anyone asks why one exhaust is smaller now, I'll just say it's a generator. But in the future I plan to cut a 3 inch diameter plastic bottle, cut the end off , silver paint it and then stick it in the end of the CCV hose to look like a real turned down exhaust pipe. The smoke is most noticeable at night in stop and go traffic. Looking back in the side mirror I can see the smoke swirling illuminated by the car's headlight in back of me, and imagining what that driver is thinking!
