Johnny8, I had flipped my doghouse around with no problems, don't have any leakage. Are suggesting that flipping the house, things don't line up right? Seems to work fine here. I am an early 99 for reference sake.
Methel Ethel Ketone. A kind of super solvent, thinner etc...
Used to use this stuff in the Navy for cleaning aircraft and painting etc. Pretty potent stuff we dont even use it anymore. Very hazardous.
Yeah it'll melt brain cells. I'll try Simple Green instead.
I turned mine around on the '97. and eventualy the o-rings started to leak and I was getting an oil bath down the back/side of my engine, so I put it back to normal and now both trucks look like this.
Why not plumb the CCV into the exhaust stream? An old racer trick, the exhaust traveling past the tube creates a vaccuum and de-pressurizes the crankcase, relieving the pressure on the bottom side of the pistons giving a small gain in horse power. Waddaya think???

i was thinking about doing something just like what you are talking about, but i didn't realize that it could create a vaccum...
Yeah, what he said. Just do it outside and you will be fine. Having a third eye growing out of the back of your head is not such a bad deal! Helps you see those pesky law enforcement officers.
We wear solvent gloves and that is about it. We would never use the product indoors.
Consult the MSDS sheet that is attached to the back of the container.
This stuff really does a good job.

sorry... i missed your post when i was on earlier... to answer your question, when i swung the cover around, i should have put new gaskets on... the originals are all expanded and don't fit into the grooves where they are supposed to go... add to this the fact that my hose had become partial crimped and the crankcase pressure was slightly elevated and i ended up with some blowby on one of these gaskets... i confirmed this because i could see the oil being blown across the valve cover and as soon as i uncrimped the vent hose the oil flow stoped... my bad...
it was no point messing with it on the stock exhaust, i am putting in a 4'' MBRP this weekend i may down the road, tap this into the piping in a un-noticeable area, post-muffler. sometimes when its cool out, i start it up and i can see a noticeable fog cloud slide out from under the truck, man i cant believe all that crap was going through the turbo/intercooler!
Hey Strokin_it7.3 I just noticed that you are missing a Wicked Wheel.
yes i noticed that when i was inspecting it closely. when i get my exhaust on, ill see if that is enough turbo whine for me. i dont want it to be an obnoxiously loud and full-time whine, i told my folks i was going to keep it simple, plus my mom hates the "loud stinky diesel" . i saw one on black cloud last night ("superior" wheel, looked the same) for $69. that plus the two TAG's were about $250. not bad, not bad!

It probably wouldn't work as well on stock exhaust because of the back pressure created by the muffler, but with straight pipe, the speed of the exhaust gas might be fast enough to suck the gases out of the crankcase....
I don't know if the link will work from here, but this is a pic of how I tied it into the exhaust after the muffler. If I were to do it again, I would skip the bung and copper pipe and just use a foot long piece of steel pipe welded or brazed in.
Has anyone had any problems doing this ccv mod.I was just wondering if it vented into the intake for a reson or not?Just dont want to do it if it will ruin something. If u havent had any problems with it,how long have u had it in?
Oh and fat deisel good job on that install,if i do it i will do something like that.
