"Tornado" type devices

Popular Mechanics tested a bunch of "fuel savers" this month, including the Tornado. None of them worked, a couple caused less horse power, one was so poorly made they didn't even install it because little parts would have been sucked into the engine, and one other caught on fire.
Moral of the story, if there were something for less than $100 that could make a real difference in MPG, it would come with the car.

On one of the Nissan boards I visit someone said this.
Looked on PM.com and couldn't find the article so not saying its 100% accurate, but sounds plausible.

Popular Mechanics recently tested these types of devices. The Tornado and the Intake twister Both reduced Peak Horsepower by more than 10%.
The Intake twister INCREASED fuel consumption by about 20%, where as the tornado had no Impact.
