20 inch eagle GT II tires , not good.
O.K. this is my opinion that might helps others .I am NOT trying to start a tire war. I recieved 20 inch rims and Eagle GT II tires from Discount tire. Tha truck has had a vibration since the tire change. I had the tires Road Forced balanced and they said they are ALL out of round ( All Bad ). I sent the tires back , they sent new ones . Still a vibration , so I had them Road Forced again at $20 a shot per tire. The new front driver side tire is out of round. They moved it to the rear for now till I get another new tire. Drives 75 % better. How can 5 out of 8 tires be bad?. This has been a nightmare . I had regular balancing done two other times and the tires where worse. So if you are going to use larger rims , have them Road Forced. Not many people do it in my area . Larger rims need it. And in my opinion , Stay away from the Eagle GT II , also re - consider larger rims. With what I know know , I wouldn't go any larger then 18 inch. I have read elsewhere that these trucks are sensitive to larger wheels.

This might be a solution for both who have 20" rims. I have 17" rims right now and i am about to get 20's. But even with my 17" Rims i have had the SAME vibration problem. So i go to thinking and then remebered that the first time i got them balanced they told me that they were really hard to balance and they might cause vibration. So after about 4 months of vibration i had enough. When i went back to get them re-balanced i told them to try mounting the weights on the OUTSIDE of the rim instead of the inside where you cant see them. Sure enough that was the problem. The weights are ugly on the outside but it is better than the vibration....... Also you might be able to try stick on weights on the outer edge of the inside of the wheel. Hope this helps......

JT - you just may be on to something here - since the stock rims come with the weights on the outside - at least on my '05 SCREW with 18" wheels - no vibration issues at all.

I was talking to my local dealer service manager just this last week about the after market wheels they are installing. He said, don't waste your time and money, that they have more problems with aftermarket wheels than any others and he wished the dealer would never modify the trucks before they sell them, that way he doesn't have to try and fix the vibration problems. He also mentioned they cause a lot of brake / rotor problems if the tires/wheels are heavier than the OEM tires/wheels.

1. I could have told you the GTIIs suck. Its the OE on the Rams with the 20s and we see alot come back because they do not balance out, plus they dont last long.
2. When buying wheels, look for ones that are hubcentric. This is how a OE wheel is made. It puts the weight of the truck on the hub part of the wheel as oposed to a lugcentric which puts weight on the wheel lugs.
3. I guess I am lucky, because my 04 4x4 and my 04 4x2 do not vibrate at all, and the 4x2 has 36,000 miles on it.
