Lighting the tires up in smoke from a standstill (no powerbrake mind you) is not a problem for me. Running Predator at 85 HP setting with Kwik filter and muffler delete. I try not to do it too often, my 305/55-20 Toyo A/Ts are over $220 each
A completely bone stock PSD will be able to de a power brake. Especially if you are only spinning one tire. One tire is not impressive; doing a power brake is not impressive. It's when you can just stomp to go pedal and burn BOTH tires without touching the brakes that's impressive. One black mark an Escort can do.
And yes, my truck can burn both.

My 03 7.3 auto CC 4X4 with 305's will not spin from a dead stop even with the SCMT on high perf setting. It takes off and once boost builds it will spin a little. However, after installing the Diablo accumulator valve, I wanted to see if the shifts were firm enough. I stopped on a deserted country road, hit the gas and brake barely long enough to build some boost (didnt hold it there) and floored it. It went through third spinning wildly and I let up enough that it wouldnt go into OD, as the rpms came down, it shifted down into second so I floored it again. It resumed spinning back into third and I let up. I definitely need a LS. This thing is helpless in the rain. I would hate to drive a stock 7.3 again. The tuner is awesome.
Yeah...I know...non-posi does suck. I got such a good deal on the truck that the rearend didn't matter to me. Right now, I'm looking for a Ford posi for my rearend.
It should be illegal to make a diesel with out a posi......... and it should also be illegal for Ford to call what they put in there rearends a limited slip.
I agree with Ranger, the factory LSD is just shy of worthless. I was told the breakaway is something like 20 ft/lbs. Just another way for the factory to put more dollar signs on window stickers, I feel.
I'm just looking at the Ford brand LSD's because they are pretty cheap on ebay..I'm not looking to spend much but do you guys know any other brands that have some for some decent prices?
Can spin both with a little boost, never have done a full burn out to see what it will do, guess the price of tires and transmission always seem to slow me down.
