In the bottom right corner of the tag where dso is listed there should be a double digit number beside the ones you listed F0202/0510/136 these are front axel accessory reserve and total accessory reserve in pounds. As far as your vin goes 2F name and location of manufacturer, TE is GVWR, 14 model line, G engine type, B model year, C assembly plant (in this case Ontario Truck where I worked) B sequential seirial no. Hope this helps a bit.

I think I can help you out...

Your Vin Decodes as follows.

2FTEF14G2BCB02381

2FT = Ford Motor Company of Canada Complete Vehicle

E = GVWR class and Brake System Class E, 6,001-7,000 pounds.

F14 = F-series / F-150 / 4x4 / regular cab pickup.

G = Engine 5.8 L - 351 V8 / gas / Ford

2 = check digit.

B = Year / 1981

C = Plant of manufacture Ontario Truck.

B02381 = production Sequence Number.

--------------------

Other codes you have given me as follows...

Wheel Base 117 inches

GVW = F142 = 6050 Gross Vehicle Weight

Body = CU4 =

C = B/ Cloth and Vinyl bench seat.
U = Color Interior = Fawn
4 = Styleside pickup

Trans = K = Automatic C6

Axle = H6 = Limited Slip, capacity 3750 - ratio 3.50

Axle = C2 = Dana 61, Limited Slip, Capacity 5300, ratio 3.00

The above was decoded from the 1981 Light truck service manual. I could decode two more codes for you using this manual If I had them.

You are missing the D.S.O distric code. It should be a two digit code as 72 = San Jose California, or 48 = Detroit, etc..

You are also missing your paint ident code should be two digits or a digit and a number. Color Code 5G = Dark Caramel Metalic, or 5E = Light Fawn etc...

The From here on below is a guess on my part.

Your Front axle tag is showing the axle ratio 3.50 and what follows it looks like part of a part number or engineering number like E0TA-EG for example, and the 610185-10 could be a part of that number.

The other tags I have no clue. Sorry...

If you want the D.S.O. Distric order code, and the Paint code decoded, let me know.

Also of note, if you ask Ford Motor Company for a Build Sheet, you may be able to find out what was special ordered on your truck. Give them all of your information like you did here, and be sure to include the D.S.O distric code, and special order code in the D.S.O space.

Hope this helped you out.

Talk about bringing up an old post! Anyway, do you have any idea what DSO #0099 would be? My 1996 was built at the Ontario plant on 12/6/1995 ordered by District 72. Seems odd to me. I appreciate your help.

These people have the original build sheet info for older Ford vehicles. I think the 1980 up trucks are included in that.

They have two things, they have original build sheets for fords from the very late 60`s very early 70`s. The information how ever they can find for our trucks and even print out a reproduction window sticker for our trucks. Down side is they dont really have the ability to do much for Ford before the 60`s even though you can go back to the 50`s on their site. Its a shame in that aspect cause I wanted someone to make a reproduction of my original service policy/bill of sale for my '56 so I can put the reproduction in the glovebox with the reproduction paperwork I have and keep the originals locked up for safe keeping.
