I have dealt with both kinds of heat, humid and dry. Here in Iowa our air temps only get into the mid 90's but the humidity with that makes it unbearable. In Baghdad and Kuwait,(and our Arizona and southwest FTEr's) your temps soar to over 120 frequently but at 12 percent humidity...........It's still HOT!!!!!!!! I don't know wether I'd rather sit in a sauna(iowa) or A giant hair dryer(az).
In five minutes, I'll be totally soaking wet. I'm attacking the side yard with a small tiller, and its up to a hundred degrees out there. The weather forecast is calling it a heat factor of 107, but I think they have it cooler at the airport.
Definite lemonade weather - if I didn't have a pitcher of lemonade standing by, I'd just keel over when I came inside. I'm a low-temp sweating type. My blood pressure doesn't help.
It sprinkled a little bit earlier, and that helped. I'm hoping to get rained on while I'm out there...
both. days like today it's really too hot to work when you factor in the humidity and all the pollution in a big city. but when it's too cold we don't work at all and i'm stuck at home. worse is i can't go out and do the stuff i want to do like fix my car or work in the yard.
Well, Im a snowmobiler, so I say cold.
Personally, I consider anything below 30 degrees cold and anything over 70 hot.
I say, the more cold and snow we get, the better!
Its been 90+ degrees almost every day so far this summer and we still have 8 more weeks of summer left. Im ready for winter!!!
Octane
Anything over 70 and I start sweating like a you know who in a you know what. Cool weather for me. I'm usually the only idiot out in 38 degree mornings with frost coming out of my mouth wearing a short sleeve shirt. I feel fine but it freaks out some people. Those Wimps.
I've lived in both, but as I get older I realize that I like the cold better. I plan to move someplace a little cooler within a few years, been thinking about Vermont.
My problem is virtually the same as what Birdhunter1 said in the very first post. Plus, the heat just saps my energy and I can't get near as much done. It's been 105-108 every day here for the last two weeks, heat spell just broke today. Maybe I can get a decent night's sleep tonight. -TD
The perfect day: -10C (~15F), clear sky, warm sun, no breeze, dry snow (~7%), cross-country skis on rolling hills and fresh powder, roast beef sandwhich in the backpack.
I love the heat, the humidity is not so fun though and we get that here in Kansas. The air temp today is suposed to be 101 but they factor in the humidity and come up with 110. Either way I love my vent visors so I can leave the windows down a little plus the tinted windows help, but its still a large black oven when I get off work.
[QUOTE=Birdhunter1] but you can strip down butt naked and still be hot in the shade.

isn't that whats fun about the heat though? workin outside then either laying down on the floor and napping under the ceiling fan or taking a cold shower, or a cold drink in the shade?? oh, the life is found in south texas....if it hits under 70, i look for a jacket. i'm with Big350....
