Why is it that even in December, when it is supposed to be cold, that weather forcasters on TV talk about a warm front coming and making things more pleasant and enjoyable to be outside. They say it like it's not enjoyable when it's 20 degrees outside, if it gets much over 40 in December I get cranky!
And why is it when in the summer and it's like 70 outside the talk about a cold front coming and making temps drop to a chilly 5X? What gives, at one time 50 is nice and pleasant but another it's cold and miserable?
To me, leave it about 10-30 most of the year and I'd be fine! Do these nimrods ever think that some people like the cold weather, some people hunt and really like the cold weather and then some of us just like to break ice before we take a swim?
It's all about mother nature - what are you going to do? THE CANADIAN WAY - go with the flow - why worry about thing we have little control with?
I like all four seasons - varietyis the spice of life.
My personal motto I live by - If it doesn't change the taste of beer - why worry ! lol lol
I suppose because the majority of people prefer warmer weather than cold weather. Is what gets me is when they give the forcast for today and it is 5 and then tomorrow they say Cold high of 18. Like the 18 is cold but the 5 isn't???
I remember once seeing a newspaper weather forecast where all the days had the same number for the high temp. The first couple days were described as being "cold" while the end ones were described as seasonable.
kind of like when they say stupid comments like "It's not even winter yet, and here it's snowing..." OK, that was mid November, and it isn't exactly unusual to have snow on the ground around here at that time... According the the National Weather Service, snow is EXPECTED from Dec1 to March 1, not unusual from Nov 1 to April 1. Just because the calender doesn't say Winter, doesn't mean we can't have that kind of weather.
They have to be entertaining! What other job can you be so wrong, such a high percentage of the time, and still keep it? Sometimes, they get it so wrong, you want to tell them to look out the window!
I heard the weather girl this morning say, "It's going to be close to 75 degrees Christmas Eve. Great weather for Christmas!!! Sunshine and warm weather...a great gift don't you think Rob?"
Rob (sports) sneered at her... I was looking for him to knock her up side the head...
I heard the forcasters yesterday say it coudl be a cold and snowy Christmas Day and he had this tone liek that was a bad thing. DUH!! it's winter folks, snow is a common thing to expect, deal with it, drive careful on it. If you can't do those two things then stay at home!
Ummm....just a tad too far south. I was thinking more in continental terms than planetary...lol
One of my best friends is a meteorologist...retired from the Air Force and now working for the National Weather Service. I've learned a few things about weather and forecasting from him over the years. I can tell ya this...it ain't easy trying to predict the future, especially when it's the future of an ever changing planetary atmosphere. He's always said that he's got the one job in which everyone expects you to be wrong. I'll say this though...I'll trust his forecasts before any of these TV weather people's.

Weather can get crazy, but for the most part, I'm just gald to be alive & see another holiday season being with family & friends.
i absolutley hate the cold and i hate snow. all it does is inconvenience me. especially if im working on my truck, i hate having to wear gloves while working, and either way you have to come inside every 15 minutes because i cant feel my fingers or toes. last week for example...i bought a 79 chevy just for the flatbed so i can put it on my 79 f150, we already had like 4 inches of snow on the ground and it just happened to be freezing rain on the day that i have to roll around underneath the chevy trying to get the bolts unbolted for the flatbed. i dont have a heated garage or barn, or even a garage that my truck can fit in. then today highs are in the 10's and im finishing up my tail light wiring.
i would prefer the temps be 50s for lows and 70s for the highs all year, then it would be perfect.
