Hot! Hot! Hot!

I just went to dinner and burned the heck out of my tongue. I took a spoonfull of corn and it was boiling! Unfortunatly, my reaction was to swallow the mouthfull of hot corn. I could feel the hot food going down my throat, but at least it didn't hurt anymore. What do you do when you bite into food that is alot hotter than expected? Any remedies for a scorched mouth?

this will sound gross, but, aloe vera will work. get the real plant, and cut off ALL the skin. place the gel on your tongue for about 10 minutes, do this throughout the day until it goes away.

triton 2002, you have 10 acres of aloe vera? you are very lucky! the mother of an ex girlfriend of mine was a reflexologist, and also a big time hippie. she swore by aloe vera for everything from heartburn to hemmrhoids(sp?) she touted it so much that i didnt want to believe her about any of it, but you know what? that stuff works! my uncle had an ulcer for years and when i told him what she said, he was willing to try. she said to cut the skin off and swallow three or four pieces the size of a tea bag each day. this was two years ago and my uncles doctor says that the lining of his stomach has rebuilt itself to the point where there is no hole anymore. he is amazed.

Well I'm still at work, so no beer

matt77F2504x4:
Yep, I have 10 acres of aloe. Well, its not really mine. The land is mine and I'm leasing it to a aloe processing plant and they planted aloe on it, but they won't miss a few plants.

That's true....you can also just stick a piece (large piece) in the dirt and it will start growing.
