Does anyone know when or how often they open up the strip in manhattan? I will be in town this weekend and might just show up and woop up on some unsuspecting stangs, camaros and anyone else feelin froggy to race . Im anxious to see what the truck will do with the new turbo on finally.

Not sure when they have races there, I thought it was like on a Saturday night. I can try and get more info on it though or there are a couple members from the area that might know more. Do know the track is an 1/8 mile strip though. Years ago it was a 1/4 but they changed it sometime back.

 

yep i know its only 1/8th . It will still be fun though.

a friggin men, WAIT i didnt even know we had a drag strip! where is it? and i wanna go, but im having a party at my house sat night so i wouldnt be able to make it out

It's out by the airport on the south side of the highway. Should see the sign even though it is not real big. LOL You go down the road about a half mile to the track and there is a salvage yard across from it.

 

I was out that way last weekend to the salvage yard and I think the next races are the first weekend in August. I didn't look that closely to the sign, but I can check on it. I know they run on saturdays and may also run sunday on the weekend's when there is a race. I can try to call tomorrow and see if I can get info and then post it back here.

I called and the next race is Aug. 13-14 with the gates opening for time trials at 9:30 am and the same time on Sunday. It is Midwest Raceway and they are listed in the Manhattan phone book. When I called I got the answering maching.
